Manual Shifter Boot Retainer ring...
I need a new retainer ring for my shifter boot. I have looked everywhere and found one from China (I'm desperate) but for some reason payment won't go through.
I'm tempted to go to me local Chrysler dealer and see if they carry the part, if not then to Mercedes... I know that someone out there has had to replace the flimsy piece of plastic! Driving me crazy the boot pulls lip when I put manual in reverse. Can't believe that the retainer ring is not made out of metal. The retainer ring clips have broken off and the boot is barely attached to the console. HELP ??? |
Re: Manual Shifter Boot Retainer ring...
When I researched this part I found that it is part of the boot, which I could not find either as new. Your best bet is find an assembly on ebay. I would like to find an extra retainer as well for a spare.
Here is one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2008-C...ss!45238!US!-1 What makes them more rare, it that when you buy an aftermarket shifter, you must reuse the retainer from the OEM. James |

PM me I have two extras lying around the garage. You can also us the ring from the auto shifter. I know I use a auto shifter knob on my manual. Oh! you can have it for free. Just paying shipping.

Re: Manual Shifter Boot Retainer ring...
The auto shifter does not use a boot.
