Back window re-glue needed

Hello. My 2005 Blaze Red roadster needs the back window re-glued. The well kept (18K miles) XF top is is in great condition otherwise. I have read all the member experiences and want to it myself with the 3M Windo-weld and activator. I was hoping there is a member within driving distance who might help me. I’m in PINEHURST, NC. If you are out there let me know. Thanks, Mike.

Do the whole window , not just the part that's coming loose. Look on Youtube for re-glue crossfire rear window, there are several videos showing how to

Re: Back window re-glue needed

Thanks for the response and advice. The videos confirmed for me that I can do it. The confusing part is that the window separated all around except for around 12 inches at the top center and when I try to center the window the bottom fabric will not line up with the original glue track. Is it possible that the fabric top shrinks? I released the tension and tried to stretch it down with little luck. The only thing I can think of now is to cut the glass out and try to re-center the window in the hole. I'm afraid that will weaken the repair if there is less fabric to glue to the glass. Any advice will be appreciated. MikeE

Release, push it up and back until you get the slack you need

After my third re-glue, I gave up. The guys changed my top for me at the Eureka Event.

As to the window "not fitting" the opening, Greg up in Oklahoma INSISTS that the way to do it is to release the top from the back bow, remove window completely, then start over by centering it in the opening and gluing it in.
My issue is that, once you put the top back on and stretch it, there may be stresses that cause the glue to let go again.

What ever, after so many years, a new top is in order. Iv'e bought at LEAST ten sets of tires for the three Roadsters, but only ONE top in all that time - CONCLUSION: a new top is a better buy than a set of tires.

Thanks for the advice it is helpful. It is supposed to warm up again next so I will follow what I have learned and do the job. I have the 3M products and the clamps. If it or I fail it looks like time for the BAS top order! I’ll let you know how it goes. MikeE

I did mine 6 years ago and it is still holding fine. Read the instructions a couple times, take your time and be sure to keep everything clean. I put masking tape on the window around the glue line which made clean up much easier. I removed the tape before it dried. Be sure to let it cure completely.
