Default SRT6 Sat Nav

Hi Guys,

I have a '05 SRT6 here in Australia and am reading a few of you had your crossfires come with SATNAV...Where can I find this option? Is it a factory install?

Simon

Yes, it's a factory install. The NAV instructions come up on the little radio screen and through the speakers. I think there is a unit on here for sale under the 'Parts' section.
Congrats on your purchase and welcome.

No offense to the factory NAV, but you would be better off getting a Garmin Nuvi-350 and just mounting it with the suction cups right next to the rear view mirror. Will need Aussy maps though from Garmin unless it comes preloaded with Aus. maps down under. You can put the Nuvi in your pocket and walk around with it for finding shops and restaurants. The user interface (touch screen) is WAY better than anything you will find in most factory NAV systems that cost 4 times as much. Amazon has Nuvi-350's for just under $400 US too.

I had a navi system in a previous car and like it a lot... I was thinking of getting it for the 6, but if all you get is a voice over thru the speakers then no thanks, i'll get something else like a flip out screen.

You do get some graphics and major street information on the screen, but the screen is limited.

I had this ...

It was a touch screen... a little street name display isn't going to satisfy my "needs" lol.

I have a Garmin set-up but what I found with it is every time I use the suction cups on the window it leaves a nasty residue behind which I have a hell of a time getting rid of. On my f-150 is was so bad that i couldn't get it off, so it still works and all but I don't every attach it to the window so in the crossfire it would be sliding all over the place but at least it the ford there is a place to set it down so it doesn't slide.

i got a alpine blackbird ... it got horrible reviews from many places so i picked it up for half its retail ... i knew what to expect as my neighbor has one and let me tell you half the complaints are total BS ... like the mount rattling, umm its a suction cup on the window and it does not rattle it just shakes a bit if u go over a bump, like the rest of the car ... or the turn by turn not being perfect, agreed, its not, but the map is a big help and its not like you will get lost ... or the reroute being too slow, nope, just as fast as many oem units and it was made faster with a recent update ... my only complaint is its not a sirf III chipset so its not as sensitive as it could be.
