Sunroof on a SRT6 coupe - can it be done?
Hi Guys,
Has anyone put a sunroof in a SRT6 Coupe? I own one and would love to do it to mine but don't want to be the first.
Anyone seen this done before.
Cheers,
Simon

Someone posted photos of a black Limited with a sunroof quite awhile ago. Since the glass sunroof was "tinted" very dark it didn't seem to stand out that much in the photos. But I think the absence of the spine, or the "break up" in the flow of the spine as it passed over the top (caused by the flat glass of the sunroof) wouldn't look right in person. Just my opinion.

There used to be other photos on the forum, but they seem not to be available any more. I also recall there was information about the manufacturer and the installer, too. In any event, it can be done with a Limited, so there is no reason it couldn't be done with an SRT6.
I would hope that the picture shows the sunroof open only part way. If it is completely open it looks to be only a 12" opening. That is a waste IMO. Unfortunately most sunroof installations seem to have a very small opening...
This link will take you to a thread that talks a little more about a sunroof!

I then called west coast customs in CA and they said they'd do it for $17,000 and it would be a 6 month wait before my car could get in the shop.
It can be done, but be weary of leaks.

Depending on what kind of sunroof you have...any fiberglass or plastics worker who is worth a lick could EASILY make a small attachable 'spine' the sticks right to the glass.
The hard part is finding a sunroof with the same curve as the roof.
I think if it had an attached spine that looked somewhat 'OEM' from the factory, and the glass matched the shape of the roof, it would look good.
I know I'd love to have a sunroof, but don't want a full vert top.

All of this energy being expelled for a sunroof?
I wouldn't hack up a perfectly good car. Drop the windows or turn on the AC. The car has unique features that would be lost such as the spine on the exterior as well as the interior.
