anyone know what are the largest tires able to be fit on a stock size rim in width wise.
would 265 work for the rear or can the max be 255?

 

I am trying BFG KDW's 275-30-19s today, I will let you know if there are any problems.

 

275-30-19s were no problem and they look really good.

A 275/35 is a peice of cake, 285/35 is pushing it depending on the stye of the tire or brand.

I was very happy with a set of Bridgestone RE960 pole positions using stock front and 275-30/19's in the rear. As has been said, the 275's fit fine on the stock rims. The rears end up being 25.6" diameters vs stock 26" which is less than a 2% difference. 3% is cited as the usual allowable tolerance. That's 30 aspect. If you wanted to stay with 35's it would bump the rear diameters up an inch. Given that there's already nearly an inch stagger vs the front diameters with stock sizes I'd have some concerns about increasing that much w/o adjusting the front suspension geometry (plus smaller is effectively producing a slightly lower gear ratio). Ride quality with the 275-30's is actully better than the stock Michelins, and the RE960 has a 40k mile A/S tread.

 

I just put on a set of 275/30-19's yesterday. The tire guys kept cussing at me and ended up charging me 100 bucks to put them on because, I quote, "those were a son of a ***** to put on" They look great and they ride great too. I was going to go with 285's but if the tire guys had that much trouble, afraid they would not be able to put on the 285's.

275/30/19 will fit the stock rim. I recommend the new SUmitomo HRTZ-III from tire rack.

The Sumitomos were around $700 for the whole set. I was gonna go with Bridgestone REO1-R but they are backorered 8weeks. The sumitomo's have been getting great reviews and beat out several more expensive tires in Tire Rack testing. So for the price and the 300 treadwear I gave them a shot. So far I realy like them. They ride smooth and now that I have put some miles on them they are hooking up great. No more spinning or TC taking over. SO much better than the stock Contis.

235/40/18 Sumitomo HTRZ III

Eibachs in rear with #1 pads(thinnest ones)
19x9.5 TSW Snetterton
275/30/19 Sumitomo HTRZIII

Wow, that sucks you had to pay $100 just for mounting. Not only did I get my 275/30-19's done for free, they also did my 285/35-19's for nothing too. It's good to know people
