Default SRT6 newbie

Just checking in. I've been looking at these cars for a while and took the plunge tonight. I am totally lost to the features of this car. The owners manual is missing, does anyone have any clue where I can get one? I tried to download the manual from the sticky but the link is not working for me. Maybe it's my connection so I'll try again tomorrow.

My car is an '05 black coupe with 29,800 miles. I saw a few on here talking about a pump going out being a real common problem as well as the seat heater. What can I expect to go out soon? Can I go buy an extended warranty from the dealer? And is that the only place to get a NAV dvd?

I'm looking forward to hanging around here and learning as much as I can about my new car. My other car is an '07 sublime daytona and I am having a hard time deciding which one of these cars I like best. They are both great cars.

Hey Jeff - You can get a owners manual from Ebay or from your Chrysler dealers parts department.

You can get a Ext. warranty from your dealer or from Chrysler online. You can find the NAV docs here on this forum.

Enjoy your ride.

If you bought it from some sort of DCX brand dealer, I would demand they provide the Owner's Manual, Floor Mats, Two Keys etc. Buy the Chrysler Max Care Extended Warranty. It covers everything but normal wear and tear items.

It wasn't a Chrysler dealer. I'm missing the owners manual and only have one key. They told me they would help me on the cost of another key. I was just checking Chrysler's website and saw that plan but there's no price listed. I have to call one of the dealers.

WrenchJeff,

Welcome!

For service contracts (Chrysler), go here - www.chryslerservicecontracts.com

I'd recommend purchasing the highest one you can - as fixing just a few small things will pay for itself.

The keys can be bought on Ebay, you can program it yourself after having it cut.

The books can also be found on ebay.

The NAV CD's can be downloaded/burned off of this site - a little complicated, but it can definitely be done.

Do you ever make it further south in TX? Ever in San Antonio? We have meets quite frequently and would be glad to have ya.

Take care,
SQ

Thanks for the info. I am going to go check on a contract as soon as I get the chance. I noticed the headlights are fogging up and wonder if that's covered. I ordered a key from Chrysler and should get it tomorrow. He said I would have to take the car in and let them program it but if there's a way for me to do it myself I would rather do it. I'm all ears.

Just went to south Texas a couple of months ago. I'm not opposed to making some m&g's down there at all. It's a great excuse for a road trip.

I can burn the Nav here on my laptop as long as I can figure out how to. I found the download. Thanks! Is it a CD or DVD? I downloaded the owners manual from Chrysler`s website but having a real one would be much better. I couldn't find any for the SRT6 on ebay right now but I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks again to everyone. You folks seem like great people.

The manuals show up from time to time on ebay, I've seen a few in the past month for sure.

As for the key, do a search on the forum - I have seen somewhere 'How to Program Key' but haven't read it because I didn't need to know (yet). I know it is out there though.

Some of us here in San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding areas started up a little club called Central Texas Crossfires. It is slowly gaining interest, especially now that people are scooping up these cars at great prices.

If you're interested in joining us, we'll have a hill country cruise on Nov 11th. Click the CTC Info in my signature to read about it.

Once again, congrats on the new ride!

SQ
