Default Renntech

I have been speaking with John from Godspeed performance about some possible deals for the members. He is a great guy loves to chat it up and answer any of my questions and gets back to me almost righat away. In light of everyone hopping on the deal wagon as far as pullies and tunes go he was more then happy to help us out. He is sitting on a ton of inventory may want to move some more products but here is what he has offered us so far.

SRT6 complete kit as far as tune and pulley - 1 3295.00
2-5 2995.00
6 or more 2500.00

C class Renntech big brake kit
Fronts only , one kit available I was going to swip this up but think I am going to spend the performance dollars elsewhere. this retails for about 4k again first one to call takes it home.

$1904.96

Renntech shift **** CF - 1 115.00 retail 190.00
3 or more 100.00
This is the one that matches the interior of our car best and here is the picture of the bottom of it. I think it will fit just fine. They fit the C classes and Slks. He also has some carbon fiber and woodgrain available.

Look up SRT SIX he does a ton of carbon fiber work These would match perfectly and that IS exactly what I plan on doing.

He also has a quite a few of the renntech monolite rims in stock. I just got mine in the mail today I am going to check clearance on all 4 corners and get back to you guys. I think everything will be ok they are 19x9 all the way around. I may need to run H&R spacers because it isn't 8.5 in the front so I will check it out and search around.

Anyway you can pm me or call John up and just tell him Jon from the forum sent you. That way he can keep track on what has been purchased and how many if we wanted to do a group buy. 1-480-747-6150

I'm not absolutley sure, but I think you can still get the pulley & tune for $2,995 + $45 to ship the ECU through RENNtech. But I'm pretty sure they wouldn't get into a group buy thing.

They sell the one for the SRT6 cheaper than the one for the MB, I don't get it other than because it's for a MB because they are the same kit. I had just spoke with them about their pricing a few months ago because a guy asked me if I would do the install on his SRT6 if he bought one. So when I spoke with Bob at the FL. RENNtech store he said the price was the same and told me they had taken the SRT6 Crossfire off their page. I havn't visited their home page to see if the SRT6 was listed or not, but when I bought mine it was listed.

[After submitting this post I went to RENNtech's home page and the SRT6 Crossfire is no longer there.]

SAD-SAD thing, I've got about enough $$ in mods in my SRT6 to buy another regular xfire coupe for a daily driver .

BB,

I remember you mentioned you had those rotors done locally.

What would it cost me to have those done if I was to send them to ya or your source?

Call Cindy at http://brakeperformance.com/site/bra...php?&ad=direct

$110 per pair (Dimpled/Slotted/Zinc-Plated) this includes shipping from their shop to you. You would need to pay shipping to them (Los Angeles) - not an option for me at the time but one of the workers lived in my area and provided free pick-up and drop-off . That's actually cheaper then what I paid ($70 each) but, I also had mine re-surfaced for installing the new Rotex pads at the same time.

They won't drill through customers rotors - hence the "dimpled" - but what I like most is the zinc plating - no more rust on the hubs and edges.

When I did mine - the only options I could find for the SRT6 was some Ebay'er up in Canada that never answered my questions, and Disk Italia at $630 for a set of four. (my rotors only had 200 miles or so on them)

I notice that Brakeworld.com now offers POWERDISC drilled rotors for the front at $200 a pair and XBRAKES drilled/slotted rotors for the rear @ $150 a pair. Neither mfg offer both front and rear, or could I find out if they had directional venting vains like our stock rotors. (at least on Brakeworld) - I think that's a better deal for new rotors. I don't know how many miles you have on yours.

I am sitting at 3720 miles - and all of it pretty easy on the brakes.

I installed Rotex at around 800 miles.

Is the zinc a zinc paint of your choice, or gold 'zinc' coating? Any pics of yours? EDIT - looked at the link after I typed this...saw the zinc coating!

I'll give them a shout - thanks for the info.

Brian, thanks for the link. I have 22000 on the new Aero SRT6. The powerdisc and xbrakes look pretty good. I will search to see if I can find out about the venting befor I do any ordering. Then I can put the Rotex Golds on new rotors. Thanks again.

I got home from work and checked my receipt - I paid $160 for all four rotors. So that's $60 less - so perhaps you could bargin a bit.

Your welcome -

While all four rotors are vented, only the front rotors have directional vanes. The rears have straight vanes.

Here is another good link

Thanks. I actually found some similar info on one of the brake rotor sites. They were showing the difference because they had the directional cooling. The closeup of the Powerdisc shows that they look to be unidirectional, straight vanes visable. It would be better if they were drilled AND slotted for the front rotors. I like the looks of the Disc Italia, but not the price!

Even at $2500 Renntech is too expensiv., LET has a pully system with a choice of 178 181 185 for around $900 get the tune from InMotion for 300-500 and your at 1200-1500. With a grand left over you can get an LET heat exchanger, phenolis spacers, plugs, and a SL55 air intake and still have money to take your wife out to a candle lit dinner to explain the charges on the credit card

She tried to get me to go with her, but she was only going to be there a couple day's. Glad I didn't go, I'd have been pretty bummed out being to sick to do anything.

High Desert - known for Skunkworks, secret aircraft facilities and Edwards AFB missile testing grounds. Actually about the worst place to go for business in So Cal. Cold, miles from any action and nothing but cactus and gangs. But it's a cheap place to live. (about an hr and half from me - (with no traffic) - quick trips to Vegas from there - and lots of roads for High Speed runs.

Perhaps next time she can go to Redondo Beach - then you can tag along.

I spoke with her this afternoon, she said she hoped the vendor (contractor) her and a couple engineer's were meeting with didn't get the contract. She said she don't want to have to make several trips a year out there because she didn't like the area.
