What's Wrong With My Srt6
my supercharger only works intermittedly (sorry for the spelling). when i start from a dead stop, sometimes it works and sometimes not, then it might work while the car is already in motion? is this what happens when the IC pump goes out. i have only had the car for one month and i have 5 years and 60,000 miles left on the warranty. should i just go ahead and take it to the dealership, or is it ok to keep driving it. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL THE HELP. i hope i did not make a mistake by choosing the xfire over the corvette!

Re: What's Wrong With My Srt6
My car does the same thing. From what I've read I think it's the ic pump. I haven't had time to get mine fixed yet but hopefully soon.

Re: What's Wrong With My Srt6
does IC stand for intercooler? and it probably has to be done at the dealer, right?

Re: What's Wrong With My Srt6
usually it is the ic pump failure.. if u can get the dealer to understand the issues about the ic pump, and get them too change it ur doing good
just had mine replaced look here https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=11278 https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=21895 |

If it isn't under warranty I would go through LET for the Johnson CM30 as they are a reputable and helpful tuner. |

Re: What's Wrong With My Srt6
If your looking at the front of the car its on the left behing the left lower grill.
I have custom grills I can lay on the ground and look through and see it. You will not be able to see it if you have stock grills...you have to take off the pan on the bottom of the car to see it. |

Re: What's Wrong With My Srt6
Hey Speed, don't panic yet. This happened to me and the dealership had to bring in a mechanic from Benz to finally fix mine. It was a temperature sensor...they had my car for a week. Their top mechanic, whom I know, does a lot of Viper work, couldn't figure it out...he thought what the others thought. Brought in the German mech, it was fixed. Same guy told me to bring it back to him when the warranty runs out, and he would tune it for me...got to like the Benz people...Doc
PS...the sensor was telling the motor it was still cold...so it wouldn't engage SC....so they told me...it runs better than ever now....Doc |
Re: What's Wrong With My Srt6
:) i am going to keep my fingers crossed. i was wondering if anyone has thought about the possibility of wiring a hidden toggle switch to the clutch that controls the sc. it is basically the same as the ac clutch. everyone knows the old school trick to bypass the low pressure switch on the ac system, i always used a big paperclip. i'm not suggesting cutting up the wiring on our babies, it was just a thought. every sc that i've ever seen works all the time (no clutch). THANKS AGAIN for all the info, nice to have all the support of our growing forum!:D

Re: What's Wrong With My Srt6
I am going throught the same issue as we speak. I told the dealer what "we" on the forum had found the fix to be the IC pump failure and of course they said they had to check it out themselves. Well, after a couple of tries replaceing everything EXCEPT the pump as I ask them to, They have now ordered the pump and are as nice and pleasent as can be. I'm confident the pump will resolve the problem and the dealer will realize they don't have all the answers.
