I would guess close.
I have the Mag SRT and just got a SRT6
Numbers appear very close.
Speaking strictly stock the 8's usually finish the quarter a tenth or so quicker but the 6s a few MPH faster...so it is just about a toss.

I would say it comes down to your preference. The Crossfire is pretty small so if you do not have a 2nd vehicle you are a little limited on cargo and passenger capacity..

I recommend BOTH!

They are completely different animals. The SRT6 is much smoother, autobahn inspired vehicle. According to my musclecar friends, it's acceleration is quite deceptive. The SRT8 is an in-your-face american torque monster.

It just depends on what you want. My V8 buddies would rather have the charger, my BMW/Audi/MB driving friends would prefer my car.

It's a matter of taste. -------And your seating requirements.-------

Stock for stock the SRT6 is getting the win everytime. With DR's it's a closer race. but still not a race. SRT8's have been modded into the 10's already. Remember they are N/A and we are blown.

Stock for stock SRT-6 all the time every time(with and good driver). I raced two my first time at the track last year. Dont know if they were stock, but all I had was K&N's. I ran 12.87 they ran 13.35 and 13.50. Both are very nice cars. I have owned an 06 Hemi Charger then an 06 Yellow Daytona, loved them both. And they have a back seat, not always a good thing.

One car is very unique looking, the other is just a big heavy sedan. IMO, I would prefer a lighter car than the heavier one. Tire wear maintainance etc. I had an 89 TB SC I got 14000 miles out of the tires. Not driving hard etc. Just cornering scrubs off alot of rubber. The TB SC waighed 3900 lbs. Too big and heavy, unless you are only interested in 1/4 times. Good luck with which ever one you choose.

Both are great cars and serve different perposes. If you just want to go cruise around with your girl(or guy if that's your thing) the Crossfire is great. If you have 2-4 friends that need a ride then the Charger is perfect...........and you still have a good amount of actual trunk space to put things. I couldn't decide which one I liked better...................so I bought both to suit my needs on a day to day basis.

Do you want a car that goes fast in a straight line or
one that goes fast in a straight line and corners like
a go kart. Mountain roads and the SRT6 are a perfect
marriage.

Different animals. This is the first automobile I've owned that takes advantage of German Engineering.

I always thought the hoopla made about the antiquated suspension on American muscle cars was bs. This things beats the hell out of my Cobra in the twisties, as well as my WRX (both sold).

That said, there's nothing like the feeling (and sound) of a giant V8; power everywhere.

The SRT6 is elegant, poised, and confidence inspiring. I miss my Cobra.

Hell, I think you need 'em both!

I tried both and decided on the SRT6. I preferred the "cockpit" feel of the SRT6. The SRT8 interior reminded me of a family sedan UNTIL I pressed on the pedal. BOOM! the SRT8 took off like rocket. In hindsight, I could live with both.

By the way, the SRT6 has better city/highway gas mileage by about 10-15%. On the other hand your could fit a ton of luggage in the trunk of the SRT8.

SRT 8 will be faster without a doubt.. I mean, they are probably fairly close stock, but the hemi v-8s have SOOOOOOOOO many more mod options than the srt6... its almost unbelievable. Ive said it before, and I'll say it again, id trady my SRT for a charger anyday (even if its just a Daytona)...

More like 25% better mpg. Driven the way its meant to be, the SRT8 is good for 14-15 mpg. With premium near 4 bucks that getting to be more and more cost prohibitive to run on a daily basis.

My SRT-8 is slightly modded(about 450-460rwhp) and it gets 12.8mpg city and on the one trip I took to Cali and back(all highway) I averaged 20.1mpg cruising at 80mph and with a few 100+mph sprints.
