Default I went to the track...it was cooler today

The temp was about 70 and cloudy. Humidity was about 60%. The first run was 12.57 at 108.8mph. 60' was 1.95. Not too bad. I took the TC off for the second run and spun the wheels like crazy. RT was .51 and 60' was 2.27. 13.5 @ 110.3mph. So much for TC off. The third run was the best. RT of .195, 60' was 2.01 and 12.51 @ 112.6mph. See the slip below for how the car ran. Pretty consistant and good mph. I edged out a stock LS3 Vette cause I got off the line much quicker and he just couldnt quite catch me. I wasnt hooking up very good today. I dont think they preped the track like they did two weeks ago. I hit 1.7 to 1.9 on the 60' then. I only got one 1.9 60' tonight. I have to get the cooling mods in and hopefully someone will start selling some intake manifolds to bump up the horsies some more.

I am #4324, on the left of all three runs on the slips.

Wow! What have you done to the car? Terrific ET's. Best I've heard of for SRT-6.

Actually I am probably in the middle. Some are hitting 12.2 and into the 11's with NOS. My goal would be to hit low 12's or high 11's without NOS. Good day, good track, good hook, good gas, maybe I'll get there.

Nice Runs - Perhaps you will need to invest in a set of drag radials - but then you'll have to trailer the Aero to the track..

Do you launch with the tranny in 1st of D?

Good times, you need some Hoosiers. No need to trailer, I rock mine on the street all the time now.

Where have you been hiding?Chi town hit 12.2, Needswings, 12.0 and Md-srt6 is running 11.0 on the bottle. 12.5-12.6 seems to be the average for all the pullied cars this time of year. I'm gonna see what I can lay down with my 178 in this heat tomorrow night if it doesn't rain.

I try to remember to launch from 1st. The first run I was in D. It hasn' t seemed to hurt me. I have been thinking about the drag radials also. I could take them in the Intrepid and change them at the track. Then I would just have to have a second driver(and camera man?). But I would have to get another pair of rims also.

That's the problem with chasing ET's.. First you need this, then you need that, then your pulling your air filter for another 2 tenths, next thing ya know you've spent $5K trying to drop 1/4 second.

But what a hobby...uh?

Good thing there are no tracks close by me... I already have to many other hobbies that gobble my cash....

And you leave me off the list! Shame on you! LMAO! J/K! Md-Srt6 ran 11.95 without NOS. He is the fastest to date without the use of the bottle.

Looking at your slips, when you get those 60's down in the 1.7's-1.8's consitantly, you'll be all over 12.2's!! Your MPH's in the both the 1/8 and 1/4 are very strong! You are producing the power to get low 12's, just get that thing to hook without TC on and you will be set!

Okay guys, what drag radials are you using? I see the P315/35R17 that look like the right tire. Are you using tubes with yours? What rims and offsets/spacers? Thanks for the input.

I thought the purpose of the DR was that they were DOT approved so that you could drive to the track?

msheredy, the Hoosier site says
"NOTE: D.O.T. Labeled Hoosier Racing Tires meet Department of Transportation requirements for marking and performance only and are NOT INTENDED FOR HIGHWAY USE. It is unsafe to operate any Hoosier Racing Tire including DOT tires on public roads. The prohibited use of Hoosier Racing Tires on public roadways may result in loss of traction, unexpected loss of vehicle control, or sudden loss of tire pressure, resulting in a vehicle crash and possible injury or death."
I live about 35 miles from the track and wouldnt really want to drive them back and forth.

Guess I was out of touch for a while. Wasn't hiding, was in the hospital for nearly nine months. I still am very surprised at the above ET's. Way to go guys.

There are plenty of people who have DRs on their daily drivers. That said, I personally wouldn't (the car will be pretty sloppy if you're carving corners), and I especially would not recommend it for the Crossfire, unless you never enjoy a winding road.

What wheels are you using? You'd need 10.5-11 inch wide wheels to handle 315 rubber, and I haven't heard of any 17 x 10.5 or 17 x 11 mentioned in the tire/wheel threads that I've read so far.
