Running 295's on the stock SRT Rims

I'm currently running 285's.....I'm pretty sure 295's are pushing it...

Anyone running 295's? Any complaints?

I've got a set of BFG's offered to me in 295/35/19 for a FANTASTIC price.

Just checking.

I also spoke to the shop that I bought the tires through, and all they had to say was that the tires are "designed" to fit a 9.5-11 inch wheel, but that a 9 inch wheel would do just fine. Since it wasn't in the mfgr's suggested range they can't guarantee fitment though. I'm not too worried though, seeing as how it's been done.

Are the Limited Rims and SRT Rims the same width? Front and Rear?

Just wait until the end of next week................I'm gonna be running even wider tires(on aftermarket wheels) for the dragstrip!!! Pics will be posted when I mount/balance the tires and throw them on the car.

One of the guys here in Phoenix has 295 BFG GForce on the back, but he did say it took two men and a boy to get them on !!!! Looks awesome tho. I am running 275/30 Vredestein's on the back with no problems

That's what it took to get my Eagle 285's on! I can't imagine 295's.

I'm running 295/30R19s on the rear with aftermarket 9.5 wide rims (1 inch wider than stock) and they pooch a bit... and yes it took two guys to wrestle them on the rim... :D

Good luck squeezing those things on the stock rims... those tires are made for 10 inch rims minimums (manufactures recommendation)

Good luck!

Now you guys have me worried.... My Vredestein 295's come in tomorrow. Guess we'll see then. I'm fairly confident that they'll fit, but I'm worried I won't find a tire shop that's able/willing to put them on. And if I do find a shop to do it, I'm wary that they're gonna scuff the hell out of my gorgeous rims. Ahhh hell, guess we'll just wait and see.

What is the reason you guys are going that wide?? I love wide tires as much as anyone, but the car really doesn't need them that wide IMO unless you are doing autocross or taking a lot of hard corners on a regular basis. It may actually hinder your "straightline" performance with more rotating weight. Just some thoughts. If you are just going for pure look, thats cool too. I hook up fine with my 255's on the track, but I may go to a max of 275's when I order tires because of the performance mods im going to be doing.......

When you exceed the tire manufacturer's reccommended wheel width you risk distorting the contact patch and sidewall movement. Cornering could get worse with 295s on 9" wide wheels.

So, is the widest tire we can mount what we have as OEM?

True, I didn't even think of that........I guess it is more for "looks" than actual perfomance gains.

Re: Running 295's on the stock SRT Rims

Yeah pretty much just for looks. But, just a thought; If I go to the dragstrip, I would deflate them a good bit for traction, so in that instance most if not all of the contact patch would be used. But yeah, for everyday use, I just want that fat look.

FP, from all the input it looks like 275 or less is no problem and 285 is probably okay. I think I am going with 285 when its time for new shoes. I wont be racing them either.

That depends on the model of tire you wish to install. Look up the manufacturer's reccomendation. They usually list the range of rim widths in the Size & Pricing chart. The widest KDW2 you should install is 275 according to the BFGoodrich site.

And remember that WITHIN that range, the narrower tire will have less sidewall flex resulting in better steering response while the widest tire will have a wider contact patch.

Always remember when going to a taller tire, you'll need to have your speedo recalibrated somehow. The taller tires will have you traveling faster than what your speedo says, which could net you more tickets. ;)

Re: Running 295's on the stock SRT Rims

Can the speedo be taken care of w/ a tune? I had a local tuner adjust the speedo on my other car, and I gave him $50. It was too much, but he went out out of his way to help me.
