New Voxx wheels and updated intake...
Well, I finally got the Voxx 17x8 MG LZ wheels, 20 offset, with the 275-40 Nitto drag radials. These wheels fit perfectly without having to use any spacers! I also modified my already modded 3" intake by replacing the flexible plastic piece with a thick 4-ply 12" silicone hose. Let me know what you think of my wheels and DIY intake and the fancy gold metal piece for the horns!
Don't mind the rust on the brakes since I just got done washing the car!

Iam liking the wheels for the gearing benefits, what it the height. How is it that the 275 goes on a 8" rim. I went blind trying to get the Kumo 245 Drag radials on, had to switch to Hoosier, not my first choice.
Where and how much are the wheels available for???? I like them, WOoody

Americas tires and Discount tires have the Voxx MG 17x8 ET20 for $130 each. The MT P275/40-17 ET Street radials are 25.7" tall vs the factory 26". That is what I am going to get to use for next year. We are almost done with track time here. Woodburn closes in two weeks and PIR runs till the first of Nov. if it dosent rain.

^^^ Yep, exactly what MikeR said about the wheels from Discount Tires. I bought the tires from Firestone which were only $158 a piece plus mounting, balancing and of course tax. Not a bad deal. I stood the stock tires and drags next to each other and they appeared to be very close to the exact same height. The car probably saved about 10lbs per wheel, so I'll have to weigh them the next time I take the wheels off.

If you guys are going to be driving on them quite a bit and still want performance at the track you can always go with the 255/45R17 sports car d.o.t. from hoosier. They have the same tread pattern as the drag radials at are 26.3"tall, about as close to stock as your gonna get. I have the 16" radials and only used them for the track, just starting on my second pair. New drag radials from hoosier or Mickey Thompson have 5/32" brand new. The cheaper ones have more tread and more everyday road worthy.
Cruzin, I am missing what you are trying to say. The MT and Hoosier drag radials list at $198 each. The Hoosier Sports car DOT list at $244 each. I presume the Sports car DOT has more tread and is a little harder for longer running for road courses. If the Sports car tire is hooking up good for you at the track then that would be a good alternative to get more use out of them. I dont plan on driving around on them. Thanks for the tip.

I have the hoosier drag radial and they are very, very soft and only use them for the track. The sport radial is also very soft, but is designed for road racing, so may have a longer life expectancy. The drag radials that I'm talking about for better life, but not the same traction performance are the bfg's, and nitto's for those that plan to use them for everyday use. The tread compound was alot harder and even the tire shops that stocked bfg's told me to go with either MT or Hoosiers.
For me to run the season which is about 10 races and some test and tune sessions, I figured I would need 2 pairs a year. I don't have an exact number but I'm guessing I got about 80 passes on the tires. Hoosiers recommends small quick burnouts, and that's what I do. No John Force burnouts unless I want to replace more often, as you know they are not cheap. I just paid $191 each.

Yeah, the MT and Hoosiers are both $198 at the places I have found so far. I would probably get about what you figure for use also. Thanks for the clarification.

Did anybody on here buy them? I forgot about them, and was going up to $200 for the heck of it.
