Rob's Tune from InMotion

Ok, so before some goodies come in the mail from Mr. Rob I decide to send out my ECU to InMotion. I say give me "Rob's Tune". Even though I don't have those fancy manifolds, I still want the tune he had tuned for them. It came back today, slapped it in let the car run for about 10 minutes and headed for the track. Big oil down so the car cools in the staging lanes. 82 degrees out and the trusty weather station is calculating DA at 3800 feet. Pretty much the same conditions last Friday night and I ran 12.788. So finally after a very long wait I get my first qualifying run. I launch and it seems normal until the 660' mark, then whoa the car starts to pick up some serious power. Go pick up my slip and I'm like what!!! I ran a personal best of 12.303 @ 112.540 and finally made it to the 1.7 club barely with a 1.795 60' time. Every pass tonight was better than my old best of 12.522 and that was done in 59 degree weather. I gained 4 tenths of a second with this tune. That is huge. I am way pleased. I can only imagine you guys at MIR, the records will fall. Thumbs up from me for InMotion.:D

 Nice job! Same as me, but I have yet to run in temps below 75 degrees here at sea level. :( I have Robs old tune for the prototype manifolds. I need to call inmotion to see if it is worth it for me to get the new tune. From what I noticed with my tune, is right at about 80 mph the car really kicks in, feels like a 35 shot of N20. I was thinking it is probally really rich down low then hits full boost and creates a better AF rato=more power. I need to get my wideband hooked up so I can verify. I hope we get our manifolds soon. I am heading to the track on the 24 if they come.

Awesome times indeed and I envy that 60'. I wish I could go to the track rite now as it is freakishly cold(40*) outside................and no racing this weekend. :(

Ok just got back from the big race I was test n' tuning for last night. It's a beast. The car has some great temps to work with. I really can't believe I'm typing this. My new personal best came again on my last pass of the day on a heads up fastest street legal race class. I loss to an 11.7 sec car by .021 because I tree'd him with my own horrible light. I ran a 12.021 @ 111.152 but my 60' was 1.746!!! Here is my timeslip.

Re: Rob's Tune from InMotion

Sorry did quick reply and couldn't attach on that post. I attached two so you could see my MPH on one of the runs. 115.622 that's insane. I would rather show you a video, but didn't take the camera. I really didn't see this big of an improvement coming with just the tune. The weather on the 12.02 was 69 degrees. So there is still some left to get into the 11's. On that run because it was heads up I raised the rpms higher than normal and had to hold the car back. I had the best 60' I have ever had. With these results and my DA was 3300', I see 11's a pretty easy feat with needswings mani's or even this setup at sea level with great temps. Those of you running 12.50's like me, get the tune. One member asked how much it was. $500 for the the tune and $7 bucks for one postage. Seeing my slip with a 12.022, just freaking priceless. I honestly thought because I wasn't near sea level I probably wouldn't hit 11's. Now it's just what day. Remember all I have is an ASP 178mm pulley and needswings intake. Ran no tune for 10 months. Car pulls so hard it's insane. I could have charged tickets for the amount of people that came to see my car in the pits and staging lanes. I think 2 are going to actually buy one, they were so stoked. I predict some massive records being broke tomorrow in Maryland. Cool weather and sea level, someone with all motor is going to run under 11.50.

Enjoy guys it's a new day with our cars.

I forgot to say I added the second timeslip to show the mph of that run. I believe that may be the highest mph of any all motor pass as of yesterday.

You must have some other goodies installed?! The tune is awesome indeed! Is this run just, pulley, tune,NW cai, drag radials? You are right there with my best times!:D

No mani's if that's what your asking. I should have those on the first batch. That will be very interesting. I have the 178 ASP, NW intake, InMotion Tune, and 16" my favorite Hoosier daddy drag radials. I lost in the semis by the way. I'm telling you that tune is from like 20 dynos Rob has done. I'm a copy cat, it's a Rob's clone except I have my full stock exhaust and no mani's.

Is the tune a 93octane tune or a 100 octane tune? By the way awesome times, plus your skills are da bomb!:)

Regular tune as I didn't want the 100 octane tune. I do use 100 octane though, VP racing fuel at $6.50 a gallon. It's help my car cool down alot faster between runs. That 100 octane tune must be wicked. I don't want to have to put 100 octane all the time, even though I do.

You big Patriot Pansie, pull up your diaper and run that 12.2 tomorrow. If the track is prepped good, you should have no problem. Just don't put it in the wall. The slightest tire slip is costing you hundredths of a second, so the run is wasted. Let off and try again on the next pass. Have fun most of all.

Re: Rob's Tune from InMotion

hmmmm,

well, that makes me hopefull for tomorrow, I have basically the same exact setup minus the drag radials. I've pulled a 1.91 60' so maybe we will see it run a 12.2???? I'm cool with that.

BTW, I'm thinking alot of that success is the "Driver Mod" in the seat. You CAN DRIVE!

Thanks NeverEnough I am pretty used to my car. I'll add a pic later to show you what I mean.

Re: Rob's Tune from InMotion

You will be there soon. Along with Distant and a whole bunch of you guys. I usually don't do the dragtimes thing, but figured it's time. By the way I didn't bother doing the calculations what the run would have been at sea level and my MB buddy just reminded me of that. That run was a 11.77 on all motor at sea level.
