I'm sure not too many people use their SRT-6 as a daily driver in the north, so I shot this pic for your viewing pleasure. Just so you know the temp is really -5, but you guys know how this engine pushes the reading up a few degrees when the car's standing still.

 

I can honestly(and HAPPILY) say I've never been in any place that the temperature had a (-) sign in front of it!!! Too damn cold for me.

 

You should have been in MN today. -16 on mine! That's so friggin cold it makes the penguins fly south to warmer weather!

 

Yeah, you guys are getting an even worse dose of this cold spell. Do you drive your XF all winter too then?

Thanks! We don't get to see that because they're all wearing 10 layers of clothing to stay warm so the fatties and the hotties all look the same until they come inside. Then the hotties take off their 10 coats and the fatties only take off one! LOL

 

I am enjoying my last day in Florida tomorrow...
It is about 43° F here and people are complaining about "cold"...

Moved to our new home in New Jersey. It is so beautiful here. The hills are so picturesque. Can hardly wait to see them with snow covering them. God's Country. I love it here!

New Jersey is the most beautiful place on earth. The leaves are turning all different colors. I love the shades of red and orange. Went for a ride through some beautiful hills and spotted some deer. They are so graceful, certainly they are the most peaceful animals on earth. This must be Paradise…I love it here!

Deer season will start soon. I can't imagine anyone wanting to kill such an elegant creature. The very symbol of peace and tranquility. Hope it will snow soon. I love it here!

It snowed last night. Woke up to find everything blanketed in white. It looks like a postcard. We went outside and cleaned the snow off the steps and shoveled the driveway. We had a snowball fight (I won) and when the snowplow came by, we had to shovel the driveway again. What a beautiful place. Mother nature in perfect harmony. I love New Jersey!

More white **** last night. Been inside since Christmas Day except for shoveling out the driveway every time "Snowplow Harry" comes by. Can't go anywhere, cars buried in a mountain of white ****. The weatherman says to expect another 10" of the **** tonight. Do you know how many shovels full of snow 10" is?

Happy Damn New Year, the weatherman was wrong (again). We got 34" of the white **** this time. At this rate it won't melt before the 4th of July. The snowplow got stuck up the road, and the ******** had the ***** to come to the door and ask to borrow my shovel. After I told him I've broken 6 shovels already, shoveling all the **** he pushed into the driveway, I broke my last one over his damn head!

Finally got out of the house today. Went to the store to get food and on the way back, a damn deer ran in front of the car and I hit the *******. Did about $3,000 worth of damage to the car. Those damn beasts ought to be killed. Wish the hunters had killed them all last November.

Took the car to the garage in town. Would you believe the thing is rotting out from all that damn salt they keep dumping all over the road? Car looks like a piece of ****!

I've seen temps in the teens on my display, but never as low as single-digits, let alone negative numbers ... makes me feel damn good about the upper 60s we had here in NoCal today ...

RIOT buddy I love picking on you...your wife's exploder....what did you hit that made it explode my friend? Temps headed into the - catagory tonight, garage is 50 and holding, and that's where the XF will stay awhile longer.

 

I grew up in Michigan so I know cold. I remember how a car would make this weird groaning noise when you'd try to start it on a freezing cold morning. I live in Indianapolis for two years before moving to California and I remember the last winter there - one day, shortly before Christmas, I awoke to bright, crisp blue sky and a fresh blanket of snow. The kind of snow that's all powdery and sparkly as it lays there, covering everything in soft pillows. The windows were all lined with a delicate layer of frost. It was gorgeous, but you knew from the look that is was cold. Extremely cold. Bone chilling cold.

It was 23 below zero. No wind chill, just cold. With a capital "F", if you get my meaning.

I went outside to start the car, expecting to hear that tell take groaning noise a car makes in cold weather.

Damn thing didn't groan though. I swear it actually just laughed at me!!




Fast forward to this morning here in SoCal. I left the house at 5:30AM. Top down. Short sleeve shirt. Didn't even bother with the seat heaters!! Temp display on the dash read 72F as I drove down out of the foothills, the lights of Orange County laid out before in another sort of sparkling blanket. Nice.

 

Not this year but I can say that I have felt 53 below and the cars that did start all wished they hadn't. The coldest I have seen over the last several years has been 40 below.
People allways ask was that the wind chill? At 45 below and colder there really isn't wind chill, ONLY HELL...
