Finally... My Needswings Manifold are installed!

After a business lunch today, and the first time driving the car since Thanksgiving, I decided to install my Needswings Intake Manifolds and Y-Pipe. Install is straight forward and very easy. Rob includes all the new bolts you need and 4 extras needed if you use plenum spacers (which i did). His gaskets are perfectly cut and will seal the spacer a lot better then the stock ones. Here are a few pictures.

The pictures does not show it to well, but the manifolds are quite a bit larger

This shows the height difference and extra volume

Heres the manifolds installed

And the Needswings CAI back on.... Stock pulley/front engine cover does rub on the drivers side manifold so I added it to my Box-O-Stock parts

How long did it take you to install it?

Looks sweet!

Looks great. I can't wait to put mine on.

How hard was it to get to the Y-piece? I'm 1000+ miles away from mine, so I can't look.

Total install time took 2 hours, and that included going thru boxes to find another clamp for the one I broke on the y-pipe at the intercooler.

Are you going to tune for these ? The easiest way for your tuner besides a dyno is datalogging.

glad you got them on, grab the tune from inmotion and hang on! i see you have one of the lighter of the cai's and darker of the IM's or it may just be the lighting/flash, i got that handled for ya, i'll chat with you more about that on aim tho

btw, be careful with the overflow, if those zip ties break the can can fall into the belt :(

Yeah I know, It was temp. fix for last night. When I do my next mod I will relocate it and fab up some brackets. As for the tune, I have dyno time in march for with Jerry from LET. I will be upgrading from a 181mm to 18mm crank pulley and possibly trying to get on demand fuel pressure to work as well. The car is back into storage till its warm. Poor girl, it was -6 last night when I drove it from my garage to storage. I did miss driving her tho. Oh and the color is not to far off, it was mostly the flash reflecting off the Teflon coating that made it look that way.

The SC looks so small when all else is upgraded...

Is that a dent on your NW manifold under the H?

Yeah... Rob contacted me about it before he shipped them out. We worked out a deal on them because I didnt want to stick him with a set that he couldnt sell because of it. Its very slight but the teflon coating makes it look a lot worse then it is.

Quick review of what I noticed driving it back to storage. I lost 2psi of boost but my airflow sky rocketed from about 260gms/sec to over 320gms/sec and then I let off because 100mph in a 45mph zone was little excessive. My bottle neck now is the stock exhaust..... Im more then confident that the VE of the intake side is well above the VE of the stock eaton.

Be sure to post up some track/dyno numbers when you get your tune!

Did you happen to check real close to see how tight your hood with the insulation is when closed? The reason I ask is that mine is very tight just with the larger spacers and stock mani's. It burries itself into the hood insulation. You could trim the insulation a bit. You may want to check this so you don't put undo pressure upward on your hood and cause a slight buldge.

No, I didnt actually, thanks for the heads up. The LET spacers are thinner then the code3 (I think) but Ill check when i grab the car for the local meet on the 7th

I didn't think you did. Just thought it would be a good idea to check if Code 3 spacers are used.
