It's that time for new tires
 

The time has come. I've got the stock Contis with around 16,000 miles. Got a nail in the front driver's tier and the rears are worn, so it's that time. I'm not necessarily looking for all-seasons but want something that handles equally in the wet as they do in the dry. Kind want something that's a little smoother and quieter than what i've got now. I know this has been posted before but I'm in a major rush. Any good suggestions? Thank you!

Yep, Vredstein Sesanta's. The V's!! They are fairly cheap too. I put them on my car and will be putting them on the car again. They grip excellent and are super quiet. :cool: They do wear pretty fast though.

major rush? then just get michelin pilot sports (aa/a rated). they're what i use. as distantpulse said, the vredsteins are great as are pirellis (longer wear). if you are on a budget, then bridgestone or hankook.

I chose Falken FK542's for just those reasons-good wet traction and smoother ride. They are favorites of the Audi and BMW drivers and are descibed by Falken as UHP sports coupe and sedan tires. Good price and very good handling tires.

And also, if I decided to go with a 265 or 275 on the rears, would I have to go wtih any type of spacer?

You can go up to 285's on the back with no spacers it looks like. That is my plan.....:D

currently using 275/35 on the rear with stock rims and no issues. Nitto Nt555 streets

On stock rims I ran 295's with no issues.............and aftermarket rims with spacers tucked some nice 315's with only the slightest bit of rub at full suspension flex on the inside of the wheel well.

The governing issue is not wheel well clearances, but the OEM rim width. The widest tire recommended to be mounted on the 19"X9" OEM rim is 285mm.

Going up to 295 is a bit of a stretch, so to speak, and is simply an ill-advised installation. So your plan is a good one.

Very true(and I should've mentioned it myself).........but in my case I scored a new pair of 295's for dirt cheap and had them thrown on at my work.
