installing a boost gauge? repost question
i know its been posted before, but my question is how and where do i install a boost gauge?
does anybody know where the brake booster line is? do we even have one?
manifold or y pipe? what to tap with?
i have tools but no TAPs and i don't have the money to afford one. (i heard they were quite expensive)
any suggestions/ pics/ advice would be great.
thanks.

I've never installed a boost gauge but I did do a meth kit and thats similar from what I know, you drill into your manifold thats where your gauge will get a boost reading, then I assume it has two electrical wires just put one on the positive terminal one on the negative on your battery.
should be as easy as that. goodluck with it.

The wiring will depend on the gauge you have. It will have instructions on how to wire. For tapping to get the boost you can tap the Y coming out of the SC or one of the intake plenums. I used the Y, some have used the plenum. The plenum will only give you one side numbers, if that matters to you. Typically you need to drill and tap a hole for a 1/8-27 NPT fitting, screw in a 1/8 NPT (male) fitting that has a 1/8' or 3/16" hose barb on the other side. Then connect that to your gauge.....
If you cant afford to tools to do this right... hold off until you can. Or have the gauge installed by a shop.

yes you will need to tap your own boost/vac signal as there isnt an easy vac line we could just tap into. we can add a port onto a ypipe for you if you dont want to have to do it yourself.
like this,,, the tap is like $3. to 5 dollars and a good boost guage the tap will come with it.

I bought a whole set of tap & dies from Harbour Frieght for $20 when I installed mine... although you only need the 1/8-27 NPT one. Also, do yourself a favor and get an electronic boost gauge. They tend to be more accurate than the mechanical ones. FWIW, I installed my line in the y-pipe.
You can always purchase a single size tap from NAPA or any hardware store.
I drilled and tapped mine at the Y-Pipe to keep the sensor near to the OEM sensor so I would read what the ECU reads...
