Default Mercedes Dealerships

It’s time for my first oil change in my new car, and since I bought it from car max I would like someone to look it over properly for the first time. Knowing that the Chrysler techs around this area can’t tell the difference from their *** and their face I thought taking it to my local Mercedes dealer would be the best thing to do. Sadly though, when I called to get an appointment I told the service advisor that it wasn’t a Mercedes, she responded that they only service Mercedes vehicles, and I said, but it’s a Mercedes engine. That’s when she told me I’m sorry sir we don’t service Crossfire’s. I was flabbergasted. I’ve wanted a Mercedes all my life, Hell I root for Mercedes every time I watch an F1 race (didn’t miss a single qualifying session or race last year). Now when I think of Mercedes of Nashville it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I can’t believe in these times they would turn away easy business. Now I don’t know what I’m going to do, I guess I’ll service my own f’n car.

Changing the oil wasn't my real concern, I just wanted the once over by a certified tech that knew what he/she was doing and looking at.

BTW Needswings I'll be purchasing a Fuel Filter from you in the next week or so. Weekend project here I come

Well I'm glad you posted this, seeing as we live so close. I guess I can mark them off my future service location...

You think MB of Cool Springs might be better? I know there are a few EuroFix locations locally... they seem to be a reputable chain. Locally owned and operated.

Mercedes of Cool Springs and Mercedes of Nashville are one in the same. At one time they use to be located downtown, but then moved out to their new dealership in Williamson County. Very nice dealership btw

Normally there are independents that specialize in European cars. These mechanics are often trained by Mercedes, BMW, etc and the shops normally display their mechanics certs. I have had good luck bringing my SRT to an independent repair shop.

Where's the logic??
Our MB dealer also has the Infinity, Volvo, Porsche, and Smart dealerships. One shop services all the cars.
If you pull into the MB service entrance they won't touch Crossfire.
If you pull into the service entrance for the other brands, they welcome you.
The car goes into the one shop and is worked on by the MB mechanics.
Go figure!

13 dog, i did not post because "we are so close to each other" as you put it.i posted to indicate that it may not be an individual dealership decision, but a decision made by m b itself.

I've read about other mb dealers servicing the crossfire in these forums. It's possible that it is a MB decision though.

I have owned a couple Mercedes, and currently have an '06 E55. I have only taken the car to the MB dealer for oil changes and for warranty work.
Before purchasing my SRT, I spoke with the service advisor at Schumacher Mercedes in Snottsdale, AZ, and was told that according to their dealership agreement with MB, they are not allowed to work on anything but MB.
He was very apologetic, and talked with me about SLKs, and how great he thought the supercharged SLKs were, but he wouldn't even do an oil change for me.
I reallly don't think the dealers would turn away business in this economy if they didn't have to.

What a perfect combination..... an SRT-6, and an E55. I would love to have an E55 to go with my SRT. It must be interesting to have a big 4 door sedan that can out run your SRT.

I went to the strip with a couple of MB guys and one of them has an E55. It ran 12.4 with no mods and on stock street tires.
