You are not going to get any significant HP gains from punching the cats. BTW, there are 4 cats on the SRT. If you really want to get some serious HP, you need to get the following mods:

1. New CAI - The stock CAI is too restrictive.
2. Add either a supercharger pulley, or a crank pulley.
3. Get a custom tune for the ECU.

There is plenty of information on these mods in the forum. Just do a search on each of these, and you will learn everything that you need to know.

Good luck with your mods.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. Lots of great people and information in here.

You got to love it.....your first post, and you want more HP......well, set down, put on your reading glasses if you are old like me...and read thru all the threads on here...use the search feature...plug in just about anything about modding and you will get hours of reading...look at the sigs...most post what they are running on their car....look at mine...anyway, not to miss a vendor here or there, I would say, a cold air intake is the 1st thing I would think about, next a pulley change, read about all the different directions you can go from the threads on here, there are cooling mods, and last but not least is a tune...good luck on your HP search....but come with plenty of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I think so. I plan to fly up to Bend for a week sometime soon. - I have to use 4 weeks vacation time before June - new vacation policy only will only allow me to keep 3 weeks on the books.

Might spend the rest of the time in Mexico or Costa Rica.

Why - anything going on in the PNW?

Brian,
Nothing in particular. Let me know when you up this way. Bend is a nice drive.

Mac0766,
It is a great little beast to drive around or take for a long cruise. I havent planned my long summer drive yet. I am hoping to take it to St Louis.....

Well, your old lady is right, it is fast enough. Ok, having said that...... Let me tempt you to do just one mod.

Put a NeedsWings single single CAI on it. I say this for 2 reasons:

1. The stock intake is soooo restrictive. It robs the hp that came with the car.
3. Right now, you cannot hear the supercharger whine. Trust me, every time you step on the gas a little and hear that SC kick in.... it is instant and permanent grin time.

Being retired is all about enjoying the unexpected grins in your life right?

Just to let you know, Needswings is a great aftermarket shop for this car. However, a CAI is expensive and there are alternative CAI options. There are one or two threads on CAIs alone so enjoy the car stock for now and plan ahead as you swell in the knowledge this forum can and will provide. Welcome to the srt6 and happy driving.
