I did find a website that lets you enter the gear ratios and tire size to get an approximation:

Top Speed Calculator

By this, it says the max is 194mph, in 4th gear. This seems about right, since I've done some searching on the forum and someone claimed a 186mph top speed run. However, I don't think this takes into account the drag coefficient and theoretical maximum speed based on a reasonable horsepower range. I'd like to calculate the top speed stock (350hp) and with intake/pulley/tune (prob about 390-400hp).

I tried working out the math using a few formulas I found online, but I'm not getting anything close to about what it should be.

Anybody else want to try working out the formulas? Do a search on google for "calculating top speed of an automobile".

EDIT: This is assuming you remove the top speed limiter at 158mph.
My speed limiter and rev limiter have been eliminated and at 6000rpm I achieved 179. Rev limiter is 6300, so I am guessing I could have achieved maybe 181mph. The 186 claim is based on a formula that I saw in this forum somewhere. No one is going 186 without serious extra horsepower improvements. I only have the Eurocharged pulleys and computer flash and got 179. Needswings would probably get me to 183.

There a guy that calculated 186mph at 6300rpm. But then i saw another show 194, but I think that was in a vacuum lol.

The limiting factor here is the aerodynamic coefficient or lack thereof. Our cars look pretty slick but they are NOT, so even with extra HP, which I have, the top speed is around 186.

It makes me wonder if the claim that an unrestricted sl55 is capable of 200 mph is true. I mean it’s bulkier, weighs another 1000 lbs, and only has another 100 hp over a lightly modified srt6.
