Yes I give them credit for trying, it's just that the body lines on these cars don't seem accept a two tone paint scheme very well. There are a couple with the second color over the hood and roof that look pretty good, but the ones that try to split on the side just don't seem to "work"

This one is an attention getter... This was at the 2004 SEMA. It is a drift roadster.

Agree on the 'two-tone' comment, but, if you look closely, this appears to be a 'three-tone' attempt. A third neutral gray color seems to be applied between the black and white over the door panel Crossfire X, continuing rearward over the boot area. Or, just could be my imagination.

All in all, a jolly good attempt at an attractive paint job.

PS: also note the pin striping over the X ... nice detail.

Re: Here's a paint job for ya...

What I find interesting about the whole paint job, is that it was the most "Labor intensive" way to go.
I'm assuming the SRT was originally black, and they added the silver, (and if done correctly) they would have to remove the rear deck lid, the hatch that covers the folded top, and the hood, to paint the underside of all three panels. Not to mention the engine bay as well.
Now if my eyes are deceiving me, and the car was originally SSB, and they added the black paint, then it would have been a much easier job.
I'm guessing, more than likely, the underside of those 3 panels (and the engine bay) is probably still coated in the "Factory" black paint.
The Chrysler dealer that was closest to me custom painted the last 3 Crossfires they had on their lot. It's a desperate (but not uncommon) tatic some dealers used to draw attention to cars that they were unable to "move off the lot" for an extended period of time.

I like it on that car, not mine. It is different and like Howard said with the right wheels it would look good.

I think we as forum members have to stop knocking paint selections other than stock. I believe generally if the average Crossfire owner could afford the costs that go into painting a car these days we would see just how awful the average persons artistic ideas are. I used to knock anything that wasn't stock but lately I seem to have, for no known reason "crossed over" and feel that "it's your car enjoy it".
This paint job is pretty good as far as I can tell via the photos given.
I believe it would leave this lot quicker than if they had a stock one priced the same.
I like it.
Enjoy the ride, it's the only one we've got...

This car is just on the other side of town from me.... I will have to take drive and see it in person...
I presume this is a personal custom paint job as they put a little name on the back end... 'The Fox'
