Couldn't take it any more so I went out to the garage, took the cover off and started her up. The car has not been uncovered or run since late October. Oh how I have missed that sweet sound for 4-1/2 months. C'mon early spring.

 

WEATHER HERE IS 60 TODAY , the better half got Crossfire out today , love that sound of it going up the road !! come on spring !!!!

 

79 down here in god's country..been in the upper 60's plus for a month....gotta love the south.

 

Same thing for me last weekend. I was really getting the winter blahs, always pretty depressed durin winter, i love being outdoors durin the summer. So I decided to start working on my pillar pod. Unziped the bubble, and just sitting in it gave me motivation to live till spring. lol.

Oh btw, any crossfire owner who stores during the winter should have a Car Capsuel. as silly as it looks it works wonders keeping the humidity from building up around/in the car,keep any moisture away, and mice/small rodents. Plus it makes you look like even more of a car nut. It has a fan and filter on the front, and has a pass thru for battery tender cables too.
I just wish i had room in the garage to put it all.

Thanks for reminding me... I just checked the weather and tomorrow is supose to be +7 and sunny. I might take the Crossfire to work tomorrow!

Well this year i really wanted to put it in the garage, but ive accumulated soo much machery i have no room to put it in there, so i picked up one of those heavy duty winter rated dome garages, then i built a heavy duty 6x18' platform out of 2x12's just to keep the car off the ground. Its not as nice as having it in a heated garage, but that will come eventualy. I just couldnt store it outside with just a car cover on it.



At first i thought having a vanaty plate was kinda goofy, but ive grown to like it. One of my buds suggested it, he thinks the car looks sik.

It looks like there is moisture on the inside of the plastic, is that so?

 

Its all on the outside of it. This was an old pic i had in my phone that i uploaded here at work, i took it right at the begining of winter, i had put the garage up on a rainy day and its just the moisture evaporating out of the ground, it was like that for the first few weeks, but the car inside keep dry. I was surprised how warm it got inside that garage even on a sunny -20c day when i checked it, so warm you could take your jacket off.

The past few weeks when we have had that crazy +10/-10c weather goin on, everything had been kept dry and clean. Its done everything ive wanted and more. Last thing i want is a mouse getting into the car and screw up the interior or such. The floor on the dome is like a 3 ply industrial banner type material, and the plastic is a pretty heavy gauge too. The fan to keep it all inflated is pretty big as well, and it has a foam filter that you can wash out.

Not wanting to side track the thread with the whole bubble thing, but when i really started looking for a car cover, i really wanted the factory cover for the car, and being the srt-6 the factory cover had the wing pocket for it, it was almost impossible to track down a new one up here. So the car capsuel was my 2nd choice, plus it helps pervent things from falling/slamming quickly into the car if something were to happen, ie, in a garage and something falls of the wall or such.

 

If you are still looking for a SRT-6 factory car cover I might be willing to sell you, they aren't cheap...but this one is in excellent condition. I hardly ever use it since I daily drive my SRT.
