Just got this e-mail from my dealer

"Hi Derek,

I ordered your car this morning..This is the first time that we have been able to place an order so your order is now in. I will be sending you a copy of the order so that you can look it over and if we need to make any changes please let me know.

It's about time... They have been trying to order my new SRT6 for the past few months... Do you notice a delivery time in this e-mail ???? :lol: Great, another 7 months before delivery, no doubt :cry:

SRT allocation was based on previous sales of Crossfires. In other words, the more '04 Coupes the dealer sold, the more SRT-6's they will be able to get their hands on. If information in the forum is true, about DC only producing a couple thousand coupe and convertible SRT's combined...and there being several thousand Chrysler group dealers...some dealers probably won't get any!

Here in Detroit, I currently have a black and a graphite coupe in stock. These are the first two SRT's we have received. The fact I only have two, and Southfield Chrysler Jeep is the #1 volume Chrysler Jeep dealership in the country should tell you something.

Pat, what's your experience on delivery times from the factory to the dock in Maryland? My roadster is only the second one he has ordered and thought mine would have been here a week ago. It left the factory on August 30th, changing the status. The status has been in that "we don't know where it is" status since then. His last roadster he got for inventory came 3 days after the invoice. He said the invoice shows up as soon as they get the car unloaded from the ship. We're not at that point yet. I figure that by the time this all happens with a couple of days to prep the car, I may have it by the first of October. Pretty good - order a car in June and receive it in October. Is that your experience that it takes over 3 months from order date to receive a car? If I didn't love the Xfire roadster, I'd look for something else.

3 months isn't that bad...especially since the car is coming from Germany. Have you ever taked to anyone trying to order a Volkswagen or even a Toyota? It takes MUCH longer. Production lead time for a Crossfire is 60 days, compared to the normal 30 for vehicles built in North America. Plus total inland, ocean, and port in-transit time from Germany for the Crossfire is approximately 40 days. So there you go...3 months. Be patient!!! you will get it soon. As far as not knowing the status....that is BS...email me if you have any questions about what the different codes mean! Hope this helps clear it up better than your salesperson did for you.
