Default Bad News and Good News...

Which do you want first? I think etiquite dictates I start with the bad. Today is my last day of owning one hell of a great little car, I've had some fantastic days in my SRT6 Days like the first day I bought it in the Monterey Bay area and within 20 minutes was carving up some twisty local roads, I'm a car guy and have had a whloe lotta cars but never one that drove like this Of course I'm preaching to the choir here, everyone in this forum knows what I'm talking about Some Other good days were when people at gas stations or restaurants asked what kinda cute little car that was and that they hadn't seen one before. Of course I told em it was a *secret* project from a partnership between Chrysler and Mercedes

Anyway, I've enjoyed my car for 25K miles and a few fun track days too, 1:58.6 in the SRT6 at Auto Club Raceway in Fontana is still the fastest I've been around that track and I've had a couple other 'track cars' on it So onto the "Good News" The new owner that is taking delivery of the car in Vegas tomorrow am is excited about his new car, very excited. His local track the new Spring Mountain Raceway will be a great proving ground for my old car. He has big plans for it, he is gonna invest the resources into it to take it far beyond what I was able to achieve And a new SRT6 owner/member here, well that's always good news

Good news, Alan and Duncan showed up at Spring Mountain at 8am with my new toy..

BAD NEWS... I dont fit very well in the car with my brain bucket, need to put in a racing seat to get helmet room.
good news is buying a car from a friend who loved his car and b lasting it all over the track today.. She drank a full tank at the track! We put the street tires back on and drove back to Vegas

Good news, the car rocks!.. Nuf said..

Racing seat will be the first thing done.

Be carefully what seat you put in, fitment is an issue with the door panel. I can tell you the sparco fighter is to wide. It needs to be narrow across the shoulder than that seat

We don't have any interior in the car so space wasn't an issue. We originally tried the fighters with the interior in it and they hit the door panel. We are currently running a fia certified momo seat. The other thing to consider is that the main reason for a racing seat is for the addition of a 5 or 6 point harness. The factory belts are not recommended for use with a racing seat. What you are wanting to do is a huge commitment. It would require at a minimum a harness bar to be installed, which is no small feat in this chassis.

That looks like the way to go even if I change seats lower rails off the mount will give even more head room. So why not do this first. THANKS!!!!!!!
