2005 srt6 65k Trans stuck in drive
Hi guys, I am hoping to get some assistance. This past weekend, my 2005 srt6 became stuck in drive after coming off the highway. There was a loss in power(limp mode?) and I could not downshift out of Drive. I pulled over and shut the car off, then turned it back on and the problem resolved itself. This happened twice this weekend. I have done a search and it appears the culprit could be the speed sensors on the transmission conductor plate. Question, would the car throw a cel ? My check engine lights have not come on. Or is this a code behind the scenes. I suspect this issue will only get worse and where I just purchased this car about a month ago; I only have 90 days on the drive- line and want to ensure I have the dealer address. I don't really have additional information to provide. I was not driving hard and neither was my wife when this happened. I have reached out to the dealer to see what is any service was done prior to my purchasing. Thanks in advance for the help. I just want to be able to provide the dealer with as much feedback as possible so we may address the problem correctly the first time. Thanks again; John

Your issue is not the transmission, the car went into limp mode because the Intercooler Pump is going bad, that restricts the use of the supercharger. The limp mode saves your motor from damage. There are two steps you can take to resolve this issue, replace the IC Pump (part is about $125, Bosch) and use the search button and insert Intercooler Pump or IC Pump and it will provide you with the info you will need to correct your problem. This scenario has been discussed numerous time on this forum.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the feedback. I am waiting on the dealer to tell me if the transmission was serviced prior to my picking up the car; my thoughts is that it was not. Will the conductor plate throw a code? (check engine light is not on. Or is the code behind the scenes and needs to be read by a dealer machine?)
Dennis, I just installed a new IC pump I purchased from Rob (Bosch 10) along with the catch can. this issue was stuck in drive. I couldn't downshift and car appeared to go into limp mode. I shut off the car, then turned it back on and was zooming again. Def transmission related.
Thanks again,John

Robby363 is probably right . . the first thing to do is check the transmission fluid level. If it was the conductor plate it would not reset itself on restart and would throw a trouble code.
This is not IC pump related, there you just lose power but it changed gear as normal, that's what I have picked up.
My soon to be gone 300 had this problem, on and off so it never happened for me only my wife. Then a few days later it went 100% bad for me and I took it to the dealership, they rebuilt a solenoid or something and I was back to normal.
Do not let them put in a new plate if you are paying for it, there are parts in it that can be replaced much much cheaper.
