Default Transmission Mount Replacement Procedure

I gotta get mine replaced. Just found this OEM and found it the be the cheapest overall. I do not want to get a cheap Chinese made one.

https://www.parts.com/index.cfm?fuse...GER-REAR-MOUNT

!EDIT!: That above link says "DescriptionW/O SUPERCHARGER" - does the SRT have a special/deifferent motor mount?

It seems there isn't an actual replacement procedure thread to replace the SRT-6 transmission mount. Can anybody give me an idea or walk through on how to accomplish this? Thanks!

Can somebody please provide me with an answer as to weather the SRT-6 vs limited Transmission Mount are the same or different?

Thanks

The trans mounts for SRT and base/Limited are the same. Newest part number from Mercedes is A 212 240 04 18 with a retail of $68.00 and from Chrysler the part number is 68071142AA with a $77.10 retail.

The MB part will have 2 extra holes as it is mounted with three bolts on the 204s, 212s, etc.

Below is a picture that should help you out. If you're doing it in your garage or driveway (you're somewhere warmer than I am right now), drive the front tires up on a set of ramps, apply the parking brake, jack up the transmission just enough to take the weight off it. Be sure to put a 2x4 between the jack and the pan to distribute the force like you see in the picture below. Remove the two bolts from the rear of the trans support (1) and the two bolts under the crossmember (3). Do not remove the six bolts holding the crossmember(2) as you can easily get at the trans mount without doing so. Replace the mount and do the reverse to put everything together, tightening the four bolts to 30 ft/lbs each. Back the car off the ramps and enjoy a beverage of your choice because you deserve it for a job well done!

Good luck and take care

Mission Complete. Easy as Pie!

The leaver pulsating effect has drastically been reduced, however it still pulsates upon hard acceleration. Is this just the new Transmission mount flexing normally? I did notice these mounts were designed to have some degree of flexing.

Is there a quick way to test the front motor mounts to ensure they may not be the problem?

Cheers

Thanks rcompart.

I never did get around to swapping out my tranny mount 4 years ago when a friend helped me change out the motor mounts on this car. I'm hoping to tackle the tranny mount swap out tomorrow. I am starting to get some vibration when accelerating and I am assuming it is because this is probably shot.

So, if the automatic transmission selectro moves as you hard accelerate (and not upon normal acceletating) it it a sign of bad transmission mounts or engine mounts?
Thanks for a reply.

For me, when the gear selector stick started moving upon accleration, it was because my passenger side motor mount had busted. I replaced the motor mounts and that went away.

Its the engine mounts. Had mine replace 4 years ago along with the trans mount. Wear and tear item.

Thanks for that info! I'm about to have it checked. At 14 years old and all of that torque they are probably deteriorated.
