Downpipes + Racing muffler: a good idea?
I want to start by saying I've been a member on this site for nearly two years but this is my first post. I also want to say thanks to all of you who post your valuable knowledge and experiences with these cars, for this website has helped me tremendously with my car the past few years!
Anyway, I bought and installed Robs catless, cutout downpipes a few weeks back on my 2005 graphite SRT6. I like the way it sounds inside and out, but I want more (you all know how that goes
) I picked up the Megan Racing MR-S muffler off Amazon because of all the praise it seems to get by some of the members on this site, and I really enjoy the way it sounds based off YouTube videos.
Keeping my stock resonator in place, my question is, would pairing the Megan Racing muffler with the downpipes be a good idea, or am I being completely ignorant? Would it be entirely too loud? Could there be backpressure issues or potential harm to my engine by doing this? Does anybody have any experience with this?
Much thanks

Isaac it's tough to give you a definitive answer. Each car is different and will respond with different mods also. Since you want to keep the resonator do the muffler in a manner that will let you go back to stock should you not like it. There is no potential for damage. Enjoy. 2 years!
Honestly I bought the Megan racing muffler as well because of what everyone on here said and I didn't really like it. It droned like crazy and sounded a bit ricey. I ended up having my back cats removed and putting in electric cutouts and switching to a magnaflow muffler. I literally only ever close the cutouts when I'm in my neighborhood at night. They sound so much better than any muffler will do for you and now my friends all want cutouts
The only mufflers I know of without drone are the Hookers and the Borla's and I prefer the latter as I and a couple of friends have them and of course I have used them on more than one vehicle.
Thanks, guys.
I think I'm going to hold off on the muffler for now. I really don't think I want to chop up my factory catback system unless I know it's going to sound good and be worth the time and money.

if you keep the factory resonator on the car it should still sound good. resonator/muffler, you can replace either one and still sound good, but not both or it will drone annoyingly.
