Default 3:46 gear

New tune on the TCU seems to have fixed the shifting issue. This gear really makes this car come alive all over again. It was a handful before, but now the shifts come a little quicker. And with drag radials, well, I feel like I am launching my old big Camaro. Had to get used to driving it down the track rather than just hanging on. After launch, it seems to immediately shift to 2nd, and 3rd comes in quicker as well, and we actually see 4th before the end of the quarter. Can't wait to get it on a timed track. But, that may have to wait until spring. Getting ready to pack her in the garage for the winter. Like I have said before, this mod is not for the faint of heart, or a cheap modification. I am glad I done it. It works for me, but unless you are going to do some performance racing, I wouldn't recommend it. You round trackers would love it. Most certainly the drag racers would love it too. And truthfully, it is fun on the road as well. It is like driving an muscle car with 4:11's. Everything happens quickly. But, it still drives normally. Love it. Thanks, Jim, Rudy.

What are the rpm's sitting at doing 60mph? I am tempted to change gears. Less failure risk than the 307's. I'm worried about long distance traveling and my car screaming all the way.

Sorry man. I don't remember. I do remember it not being a problem cruising 70 mph. But without going out for a drive, I don't remember. 3000 at 70 comes to mind, but I will have to check that for you. It doesn't scream at all. I think it will take my top end down to just under 150. But I haven't been able to calm down long enough to really right some things down. I mean I am having a blast with this gear. You have your hands full from the get go. I would have to say it is the closest thing to owning a V-8....lol

Once you find a way to launch it. I have a lot more testing to do. But I love the way it drives. I am having a problem that isn't rear end related. The launch is fine, but my 3 to 4 isn't what it should be. Either the 62mm isn't performing, or I may have a boost leak. There should be more in that range with the gear. So data logging next spring at the track. Over the winter I will pull intake and check it, look at some other possibilities. I don't want to run this thing until it is perfect. I owe the guys at the track some payback for protesting the roadster....lol I still am not sure the tranny is perfect either. It is shifting, but 1-2 is very quick. Maybe too quick. Just too soon to tell. But if I can make this all come together, I do believe we will finally be in the range I was shooting for. Which was mid 11's stock. Stock according to NHRA rule book. With just a hint of cheating...lol.
