Opinion on fixes
Curious at what mileage inter coolers, sticky keys, etc are failing. I only have 14K on My car ( bone stock ) and I'm inclined to not fix it if it's not broke.
thanks in advance. |

Re: Opinion on fixes
Recommended replacement inter cooler? I'm no mechanic. How much work is it to do it yourself? The sticky I can handle? Anything other preventive medicine? Also is the inter cooler a one time fix?

Re: Opinion on fixes
My guess is, you are referring to the intercooler pump, not the actual intercooler (Charge Air Cooler). Even though the stock intercooler pump is a high failure rate item, I wouldn't consider it a preventative maintenance item, as it doesn't cause harm when it goes bad. When it does go bad, change it. As far as the one to use, there are several options and theories... the newer part number OEM replacement seems to be holding out fine for many. I've been running the Bosch one from a Ford Lightning for 80k miles. Swap is pretty straight forward, a couple hose clamps a bracket and an electrical plug.
