Default How proactive should a new owner be??

I purchased a low mile (just turned 40,000) on 7/27/18. Previous owner did brakes and replaced 02 sensors and an oil change. The car drives out nice. I have no issues other than realizing a coupe does carry some road noise. More than likely tires as these are 6 years old.

To bench her under my care I have changed the oil (Mobil 1 0W-40 and a Mann oil filter)... I DO like the no mess oil filter change!! Cabin and air filters are next

My point on this thread is how proactive should I be with no issues experienced? I've read about the SKREEM, watched the fix on the stuck key, read today about the intercooler pump failures and finally the relay module solder fix. I'm from that camp that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. BUT, you guys and gals who have had much more experience with these cars over a longer period of time; what, if any, of these issues would you address 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc...?...knowing that you are driving a car that is NOT exhibiting any of these issues, proactively??

I'm not much of a gambler AND don't embrace the belief that she's a time bomb. Deal with it when it happens or be proactive??

Appreciate your responses.

Regards,

Do you know if any repairs were done by the previous owner? My only suggestions might be to be sure the sticky key fix has been done or do it, consider getting a spare screem as they are vehicle specific and if you need one they take a while to get. Needswings is your best source. And I personally have a backup RCM. If you ever need it you will be glad to have it as well as a backup crankshaft position sensor. These are the items that could leave you stranded. I'm not sure about a spare intercooler? These are very reliable cars but do have a few potential weaknesses. I agree, other than the sticky key fix, if it ain't broke don't fix it but I also believe in insurance.

ZERACER,

Much obliged for your response. Previous owner did just those items I mentioned and did not experience the issues listed. So, get that fix in place for the stuck key issue as #1. Then, purchase a SKREEM through Needswings. Then do the soldering of the relay module. Lastly, have spare crankshaft position sensor in your tool kit. ZERACER, not so much the actual intercooler, but the intercooler pump as a potential failure. The topic I read on that was after 30K miles this part tends to fail. This was debated back and forth here https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...e-problem.html Again mine has hit the 40,000 mark and no issue on this. So, in my mind, deal with the pump when it happens...and buy a Bosch with 10 at the end of the part number.

Hope others her will chime in on their take on my question. What would you do if this was your car?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

I'd proactively do the RCM and sticky key fixs, and carry a spare CPS and proper tools.

ala_xfire,

So, do the soldering of the relay control module, the sticky key fix and carry the spare crankshaft position sensor.

Thanks! 'xfire!

I'm placing an order with Needswings and hoping they might extend their discount offer to a Newbie on that SKREEM.

Suggest gas filter and flush/refill coolant and brake fluid. If it's an MT6, also do transmission fluid.
