Oil light come on periodicaly

On my 2005 SRT-6 sometime oil light in dashboard show up. and after couple of minutes came off.
Oil level on deep stick is o.k.
I try to pay attention when it happen. Most of the time it appear after a run (motor warmed up) (Or pushed a little bit hard) Stop (motor off) for a little period and start again to drive (at this time oil light came on)
But after a minute or two light disapear.
Could it be cause by the temperature of the motor? Like i noticed in a previous post, it seem to me that motor need long time to cool down even if it is shut off.

Did you check for any codes?

I don't check for code. Maybe i should buy OBD II code reader or is it other way to read codes. Like it was possible to do with ancient OBD I

Take it to Advance Auto Parts and they read it for you.

On my other Chrysler ( Concorde Limited ), I don't need a code reader. Just turn the ignition on/off 3 times, then on, codes show in the odometer window.

Oil levels (too high or too low) will not set codes. Check engine oil level, if it is OK, then you have the all-too-common oil level sensor failure.

It will cost around $125 for the part.

Labor will be way more, I'm afraid, if you don't do it yourself.

My 300 did that, it showed some codes my code readers missed altogether. I guess they were Chrysler specific codes, they sure saved me a headache when the intake manifold failed to shorten or lengthen the intake path.
I think my favourite reader is my $99 BlueDriver, I have four. It is handy as it is cordless and works on my iPad. It specifies what feature in the emissions system requires to be reset.

Mine has only ever shown but one code, P0440 - emmissions
Maybe some day I'll fix it, I just keep resetting it - good for a month or two.
