Numerous problems after 65mm and tune

Alright, so let me start off by saying this:
Ive done what searching that i could, and while i did find similar problems, none of which are exact. Ive looked with key words and at this point, even if its been discussed somewhere that i havent found yet, I’m just gonna make this post.

So yesterday I finally had the 65mm pulley and tune (both supplied by Vano V-Tech) and I ran into a few issues.
First thing first: if I roll into a 20mph, and hit it, then I get the BAS/ESP light to come on and its limp till stop. Similar issues shown in this thread: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...elerating.html

Ive cleaned off the sensor and, while i havent tested it, I can still feel an issue.
Which leads me to my second issue: sometimes the sc takes a minute to engage. Almost like lag. And you can feel it kick in cause the rpms shoot up and the car bucks. Other times it feels like its not even there. Im stumped on all of this.

Especially since none of this started happening until AFTER the pulley and tune.

Car is drivable for now, but issues are issues nonetheless. So any insight is helpful

(update): further investigation has lead to a possible lead involving a shot i/c pump. Ordering the Bosch one now. Will report back

I doubt it is the pulley so it is probably the tune. Only thing you can do is put it back to stock and see if you still have the issues.

Im assuming its the tune too. But as of a few moments ago, i have no power under acceleration now. Like the sc isnt even there. Currently checking the pulley to make sure its right. And if anything ill re-flash the tune to see if maybe i messed something up

Only time my car has ever felt dead ie no power is when the intercooler water pump failed but that doesnt throw any lights, you just have no power. The pulley on the blower can only go one one way, if it was off you'd throw a belt. I never heard of vtech myself and I have a eurocharged tune on my car that has never given me any problems.

Flash back to stock and report your findings.

I too have only lost power when the Intercooler pump stopped working. Just last week I installed a Eurocharger 65mm pulley and tune. Zero issues, except now I'll have to start a separate savings account to buy new rear tires. This thing now rips!

Thats my suspect is the I/C pump. The bosch 10 is apparently already in it. They guy before me said he put it in back in the low 30k range. The car is sitting at 106k now so its still possible

I also have that "Pump Always On" wiring mod, and one time I lost power again, so I checked that. The spade connector in the fuse box had worked it's way loose. Just something else to check if you have this.

Pumps dont last forever even the bosch 10. I had to put a bosch 10 in my car the day after I bought it, Ive put probably 92k miles on it since I replaced it about 6 or 7 years ago. I dont have the always on ic pump mod though.

Well i got some test wires so I’ll be test the pump to see how it is. And then more than likely doing the “always on”
mod for it too just to help

Re: Numerous problems after 65mm and tune

Ok so at a glance the pump seems to be fine, haven’t thoroughly tested it yet. But we did a current test on the throttle body and throttle position sensor to make sure that those were working. While the sensor (thankfully) was fine, the throttle body failed to give any resistance back as per the specs provided in the instructions. So replacing that and see if that fixes everything.

Re: Numerous problems after 65mm and tune

So i (Hopefully) found the issue which seems to be at the root of it all. The gap on the pulley is roughly 3.5mm, which is waaay to big. And the old washer from the stock pulley was used instead of the new one.

So now that it is working how do you like the set up. I already have the pulley on, but not sure about the tune,

Re: Numerous problems after 65mm and tune

Yes 1000%
Inconveniently my IC pump went bad a week ago so I'm replacing that, and I’m still dealing with the limp issue, however I think I have those figured out. BUT I have confirmed it is not pulley or tune related.

I also got the V2 TCU tune from Vanos as well. The car is a rocket when it all comes together and I love it

Re: Numerous problems after 65mm and tune

Thanks, I guess I need to get the ECU and TCU tune. I just heard there were some issues with it but you are the second person telling me they like it and it made a difference. So I guess I go for it.
