Talking New owner of sweet SRT6 for only $31,200

Hello everyone,

I have been here a little over half a year, reading all I can about the Crossfire. I was waiting to purchase an 05' limited SSB coupe for about 25K this month in hometown of Houston. But I came across this ebay auction for an SRT6 last month with no reserve and starting bid of $29,995. Link to eBay SRT6 auction

At first I was leery about bidding on the car because the seller was new, had no feedback and located in New York. Also, I thought this was a private seller. So I waited to the last day of the auction to maybe bid, but first I called the phone number listed in the auction just five hours before the auction ended. Things were about to fall into place for me. To my surprise the person answered and said "Thank you for calling Sam Dell Chrysler, how may I direct your call". I was relieved, because I should have no problems with my credit union approving me for a car loan. The sales person said that this was Sam Dell first attempt to use ebay to sell cars and this SRT6 was used by upper management and had only 551 miles. So then I called my credit union for a loan. I did not want to get myself to hyped up for a possible let down, so I planned to bid no more then $33,101 for this car and if I lost the bid then the car was not meant for me. With two hours to go, I got a call back from the credit union and I was approved. So I got home with one hour left, waited nearly to the last minute to bid and won. Found a car transporter that was on his way up to New York to pickup a few cars during the 4th of July weekend. And would be able to pickup my car on July 6, with about seven days to get back to Houston for only $850. So I got my car last Wednesday July 13, been having so much fun with the car that I finally got a chance to post this message.

Congratulations! Quick question: Did the car come with run flat tires like the auction said?

Dan the color is SSB. Once I get my new wheel set, I will send you a picture of the wheels to see if you can maybe match the color to your emblems.

Ronman the car came with the standard Michelin PS2 and not run flats or all season (thank god).

Great purchase Shade. I hope you have all the fun with your SRT-6 that I've had
with mine. After 9 months of driving mine on a daily basis, I'd have to say this
is probably one of my all time favorites. There are some things I'd change, but
that would be the case no matter what car you bought. Drive with pride. You've
got a great car.

After seeing this, that is a steal, is that the same car andrew just posted about? Has to be. Curious is the ride as harsh as everyone says it is? My local dealers don't have one. Closest one is around 25-30 miles away. Too far just to test drive.

Bullseye, this is not the same car. I got my SRT6 from Sam Dell Chrysler and my VIN is 46364. This awesome SRT6 deal is at Johnstown Chrysler and VIN is 46269.

I consider the ride as very stiff. The rebound of the shock and springs is way to fast and that creates the increasingly fast jolt after hitting any small bump in the road. My previous car for the last 4 years was a Porsche 968 which had a stiff ride, but the SRT6 is more stiff, probably with the addition of a stiffer chassis and short tire sidewalls. So I can tolerate the stiffer ride because just about everything is better in the SRT6, mainly the horsepower.

Let me also add the few other items that car reviews have listed as things they did not like, from major (1-4) to nit picking (5-8).

1. Price - yes this car is price to much, but for under 32k then the SRT6 becomes a bargin.
2. Stiff ride - topic just covered above as not a big problem if you are coming from another stiff ride to this.
3. Auto trans - I prefer it, because of Houston traffic and a 6 speed may only be 2 tenths faster in 1/4 mile.
4. Rear fixed spoiler - looks darn good in person at any angle.
5. SRT6 wheels - in pictures I did not like the wheels as much, but in person I was quite pleased, matches the lines on the car.
6. Cup holder - holds my 16 oz starbucks mug just fine.
7. Steering wheel to large - just fine to me.
8. Not enough road feedback from steering - will this is my daily driver and I will not track it so not a problem.
