Default Opinions on a prospect SRT-6

Noob alert!

I’m in early stages of Crossfire SRT-6 lust, considering a tasty specimen for sale in Wisconsin.

Getting grounded on the subject of these cars, this example looks super clean and unmolested, and priced about $4K higher than it should be.

Would you guys share your thoughts about it please?

Nils

IMO I would wait for a better deal. It’s definitely one of the higher priced ones I’ve seen. Also just because it has low miles it doesn’t mean everything is on par for the dealers desired price. I’d definitely ask how recent fluids have been changed. Also I’d check every gasket and seal on that car. There’s plenty of stories on here and Facebook about low mileage SRT and NA XF’s and how quite a bit of money was spent fixing parts that have more or less sat for 13-16 yrs. I have the coupe SRT and I bought mine with 40k on it. Got the guy down to 6’700$. That was almost 7 years ago though. But an auction for the exact trim car you’re looking at just sold at an auction in texas for 9’500$ IIRC and it had 19k I think. They’re out there believe me. I searched on and off for around 9-10 months before I found the one that fit. Good luck with your search

I was fortunate to but an 2005 SRT6 in the UK - it has been brilliant! From what I am picking up from the few that do go on sale prices are more likely to be on the rise.

Its a nice car but I really think the price is twice what it should be. Not long ago I could of bought a 1 owner roadster in Nashville for about half the asking price. I paid 5000 for mine but it needed some love. I know of a 1 owner coupe that a Gent traded in on a 4 door in Central Fla that is ready today for around 12k. I can put you in touch with the owner and the new seller. The car is perfect with 45k miles.

What are you planning to spend for a car with less than 12,000 miles?
If it’s in your wheel house you should buy it. If you think it’s too much money then there are lots of less expensive options available to you.
Down side with a less expensive higher mile option may have a higher requirement for immediate service. If you’re going to spend the money, you may as well get one as close to new as possible.

I just recently bought a 2005 srt 6 coupe. I'm the third owner. Two prior owners were OCD about cars. Climate controlled storage types. It has the SC pulley upgrade and the Needswings DCAI as well as a Eurocharged tune and a couple other upgrades. Delivered to me with 11,400 miles. Paid $18,000. I'm sure many out there will say I paid too much, but this is a VERY nice, low mileage car. I live about a one hour drive from the Gandrud dealership and I didn't bother to look at these cars as I think they are way overpriced. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your search.
