Some nighttime shots with the puddle lights (didn't come out that well).

Thank you all for the nice replies. if anyone has any ideas on other mods that might go well with my car...please feel free to suggest. :)

How do you like the BasslinkT? I know we made it for trucks but it would seem people like it for hatch back style vehicles too.

Thanks WST for the suggestion but I did hardwire my dect. and it looks pretty clean and out of the way tucked in the lower left windshield area...but feel free to keep the suggestions coming. :)
Infinity,
I think this sub. unit was made for this car. :) Looks very clean with the rest of the trim and fits up in that space I mounted it in very nice. The sound quality also gets two thumbs up and coming from a guy that used to do some installing of car audio systems years ago...

Have you installed the K&N air filters on your SRT6?

I got mine and they are a little bigger than the standard Crossfire.

I installed the SL55 intake about a month ago and when I ordered the parts from M.B. the new air boxes already came with the filters, so I'm using them for the time being...Not sure though if I will go with K+N for replacements when these stock ones wear out or not...I've heard many good things about filters from "Green" though...

the 20mm spacers look great. do you have them on the front too? Not sure why Andrew states that the 12mm rear and 10mm front are max. spacer. do you have a close up of them?

Not sure why Andrew would post that either. I first had 20 mm H+R's in the back with the stock rims. They worked fine. When I got the aftermarket wheels I needed 10 mm to make the front tires fit (temp fix until the smaller sized tires come in). Even though the spacers are hub centric I noticed some front end shake which I'm blaming on the front spacers. Guess I will know if this is really the cause when I mount the new tires.

spacers look a lot different on a lowered car and also fill the wheel well out in a different fashion (even at 20mm rear). respdoc...also has different rims on his car and the offset is probably different than stock...this will also change the end result & look with spacers and their mm sizing. i haven't had any troubles with front end shake...my car is smooth as glass with the h&r spacers on front & rear. respdoc...keep us up-to-date on the outcome.

i think it really comes down to a personal preference (as to have far you want to push the rims outward). i like to keep the top of the rim/tire just a tad inside the top of the wheel well area.

hope this is helpful. cheers!

I am leaning towards the 20mm all around as I feel for the $$ I might as well make it worth while.
I do not see that 1/8"+/- would make any real difference - visually or otherwise.
Actually, i am surprised that some on this forum are not maxing out the wide tract, as they are avail i believe in 30mm 40mm and up.

I would look into maybe not putting 20's up front. General rule of thumb I always heard was 10 mm. max for the fronts based on handling characteristics but since I've never had a desire to use spacers in the front (and only doing it for the time being since the front tires won't clear the suspension w/o them) I have not researched this in detail to know if it's true or not.

Re: Requested Pic's of my car and stereo, etc.

I did not read anything in archives that addresses spacer - rule of thumb or otherwise. I will let you know if the front can handle the 20mm. If not, I will get the 10mm. There should be a manuf. guide or performance guide but I guess manuf. does not condone the spacers anyway...

agreed. 10mm up front max...unless..."you want to pimp your ride". ;)

here are some better pics...you decide. you need to pay attention to the top of the tire and wheel well area.

front (10mm spacer)

front

rear (12mm spacer)

...see how far the lower part of the tire sticks out past the lower bumper edge...max it should be to me...see last attached pic below for better understanding.

Re: Requested Pic's of my car and stereo, etc.

andrew,
You mean that the 1/4" +/- going from 10 to 20mm is going to make one a pimp mobile and the other not? I could understand if you were saying that 30 or 40mm is pimpin' it.
Then for sure even she would feel that distinction.

One could say that you need more than 10 or 12mm for the average person to take notice.
I guess as you stated...it is a matter of ones own taste or style.
Yet, 10mm increase would make such a slight difference. yes?
As I look at your pics, (nice) I see a ever so slight shadow line cast by wheel wells that would all but disappear with 20mm. :) Agreed, the lowering does put a spin on this issue.

Now as far as the 10mm in handling, that could very well be more pronounced ... hopefully for a tighter ride.
After further review, maybe the 1/4" does have more concerns when it comes to added stress on wheel bearings, ball joints etc. Not sure but some reports that spacers can have ill effects on suspension althought the jury is still out if that is any spacers or just say bigger than 10mm

MB tech quote =
"Porsche, Brabus and Carlsson all use spacers. They have had a bad name in the past because non-solid unifit spacers using stud extensions (like in the 1960s with the 'mini') simply weren't engineered well.
H&R along with many others pay a lot of money to have the German Transport Ministry approve the use of their spacers and other components for use on cars in Germany. The Tuev standard is"
