Condition Alcantara
Hi!
What is a good way to make Alcantara Look like new again? I find from sitting the little fibers look dull and weighed down. What is safe to use and apply to touch up the appearance of Alcantara (Not coloring wise lol). Any tips are appreciated. Nick |

Click on the link, Dennis DTMenace Alcantara care and cleaning - CrossfireForum - The Chrysler Crossfire and SRT6 Resource Dennis, link inside the post you sent doesn't work. All there is is a Wikipedia explanation as to the compound of the material. I had already found that one through the search. Plus it doesn't hurt to get some new articles going. Some people might have found new/better products than in 2011. Search function is great but not the end all be all or else we might as well shut the forum down as most things have been discussed at least once. |
Re: Condition Alcantara
I use Woolite on a soft cloth or a microfiber sponge. It works on my S4. There is also is a product by Sonax that you can find. Everyone has their own thoughts. Myself I try to keep it simple.

Also how do you get the Alcantara to "stand up" so to speak and not look flat? I see videos on YouTube of people using brushes. Do you just use the woolite to foam it up then use a damp cloth to wash off and then dry it? |

Nick It takes a minute amount of the fuzzy surface, it takes little pressure so do not force it down. It does an amazing job, the surface looks like new. Here is a photo of it. Mine is actually green. It is amazing how little it removes, just a small pinch after just doing both seats It is called an ‘Allisable Fabric Shaver’ it works great, about $20 in the US. There is lot to pick from. I avoided battery or rechargeable ones for convenience.Plug and play with no worries about the state of the batteries. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cro...86b30532f8.jpg |
Re: Condition Alcantara
I bought a tool like that and used it on my roadster drivers seat bottom to remove pilling. It worked very well, I agree with 180 though, easy on the pressure.
