Vinyl

Hey I got a vinyl graphic for my car and don't have the solution to apply it with. Is there a way to make a solution to applyl it?

Usually a spray bottle filled with water and add 2 to 3 drops of liquid soap is all that is required.

From a decal site:
Wet Method
Be sure that the surface is clean and free from residue. Find center of decal and the surface on which you want to apply it. Hold the decal in place desired and mark two top corners with pencil.
  1. Put 2 to 3 drops of Ivory Liquid per gallon of water and sponge onto adhesive surface only. DO NOT wet backing sheet. (Glass Plus or other non-ammonia window cleaner may also be used).
  2. Start separating the decal at one corner and pull it back slowly, keeping the adhesive wet as you go.
  3. Wet the surface with the same solution mixed previously and position the decal to the marks established in No. 1. Wet hands with solution and rub over decal lightly, smoothing out any wrinkles.
  4. Work out water with plastic squeegee and dry excess liquid with a soft cloth or paper towel. Squeegee the decal from top to bottom beginning at the center. Proceed right from center, and left from center overlapping strokes 50%. Prick any air bubbles with a pin and rub down. Be sure that outer edges of decal are rubbed down smoothly and all liquid is forced out. This is essential for proper adhesion.
  5. Decal must dry out for 24 hours before adhesion is complete.

Thanks but I have another question. My car is in the garage untill march but its about 34 degrees in the garage. Is it safe to put the vinyl on or should I wait until it warms up?

Not warm enough.

60 would be minimum and 70+ would be better for best results.

How long does it need to be that temp before it can be cold again?

Till the decal is completely dry. depends on decal size, but if it were 60, overnight would do it or a sunny afternoon.

What kind of graphic are you going to put on?

Can you share a pic of it?

Thanks

I tried the heater idea but no help. Our garage does not hold heat at all. Tomorrow i will try to zone off the area around my car to see if I can get it warm enough. I was going to save it for a surprise but now it might take to long. Here is a really bad photoshop of the idea. Im planning on doing it on the hood and the rear spoiler. Thats srt six's car. Re: Vinyl

Using a decal around the headlight/grill will be very interesting....
Might want to make a shift to the right or left to avoid that section.
(or have it painted)

Agree with Bill, it just doesn't work for me on a Crossfire. Just remember though who cares what we like Cassidy? Its what YOU like.

Hey guys well I cant get my tent thing to hold enough heat so its going to have to wait until I can figure out how to get it to hold heat. Pat that is the reason why im doing it in vinyl so I can take it off later if I start to not like it. Any one have some ideas on how wide I should make the strips.
