Default Cover those grungy heater valves !

I can't take credit for this, saw it on someone's car at CAA8, can't remember who.
Anyhoo, stopped by a Love's Truck Stop on the return trip and paid 99 cents each for the 18 wheeler wheel nut covers.
They just press on together, no adhesive needed, the wedging between the two is pretty secure :

Those covers polish up pretty good.

Nope. I cut properly-sized (and shaped) lengths of stainless steel tape, cleaned them and applied.

George did his own, of course.

Yes, I had them wrapped in the SS tape and tops painted red, but the paint wore off from the heat and the tape came loose.
And no, they don't look like they were made for the job, I have convened the heat valve committee to reevaluate the future direction.

The pressure and heat is on the valve committee, some say POLISH but others want an all American solution. Being made in China the nut covers just will not do, American truck drivers agree and say they would rather go around with their nuts uncovered.
