Question 6.1 Ltr Crossfire

Can anyone tell me if the Startech 6.1 Ltr Conversion for the Crossfire is done using the 6.1 Ltr Hemi or do they fit a Benz V8 there seems to be a bit of confusion out there. I am very keen on finding out and possibly undertaking the conversion.

Its all done with MB parts carried over from other work Brabus/Startech do with MB vehicles. It's mega expensive too!

I'm sure if one did the work themselves and purchased a new or rebuilt motor, you can get by under $20,000.

Not if you are looking into new parts.
The 5.5 MB motor is big $$$ then punching it to 6.1 and all the parts and electronics to go with it the price gets crazy. And that is before you turn one bolt.
I have my eye open for a wreck with a 5.5 MB motor.
It would probably be easier to a 5.7 mopar crate motor in it as you can get it with a standalone computer. Of course measurements for motor and new trans would need to be made and plenty of mods to shoehorn it in.

You would lose the esp traction control and abs unless you find a way around it.

Yea not going to be easy or cheap...
There is a shop near mine that does a lot of high end wrecks for the auctions with salvaged titles. They have my number and I can see there lot from mine so I'll keep checking.
Some times it is just being in the right place at the right time, who knows I could get lucky.
