Obd Flash It Yourself Kit!

I saw that these guys offer a do it yourself kit just wondering if you have to still pull the ecu out?

I can't access ebay from work - but I'm assuming it's InmotionUSA.
If it is...
It's a $2K deposit (on top of the $350) and they send you all the necessary stuff and you just plug in through the ODB port, leaving the ECU where it is.
I'm 99% sure I'm going to go this route as there is no 'down-time' of your car.

yeah they finally emailed me back and said that it just hooks up to your obd port from your laptop and that's it, but it's a 2,000 dollar deposit.
Quite a few have used Inmotion, and everybody seems happy.
It's the same software as all the other companies doing the tuning.
Hey, $2K deposit which you get back, or 3 days without your car - maybe having to spring for a rental, I'm going the deposit route.

Just wondering, do these box tunes take the place of a dyno tune? Or is it better to do bothe? And someone said that these box tunes were not able to account for exhaust upgrades ie. upgraded manifold, is this true?

these are essentially generic tunes that work for all of the na cars specifically and there is another for the srt6. these are nowhere near as good as a dyno tune more of a starting or for thoose who arent worried about making every last bit of power. and as far as intake and exhaust mods the ecu is pretty smart and will pick up on these things fairly quickly on its own or with one of these tunes. but again a dyno tune would be able to extract every last bit, mainly all these box tunes do is change timing and afr.

We had our car tuned with a typical "one size fits all" tune and with the addition of our CAI and exhaust it left us with an extremely lean AFR.
Is there a decent interest in having flash work done at the Tail of the Dragon Meet?
I have a portable version of our flasher that if demand is there I could make the trip.
The flash program is a little different then the ones out there and is tuned for an increse throughout the whole power band as oppossed to just the top end. It does increse the Redline to 6200 RPM and you can expect about a 16RWHP gain.
Word of caution though, if anyone has an intake and exhaust upgrade you will be running lean. We can fix that with some injectors if needed.
I wasn't thinking of going cause of the twelve hour drive, but if demand is there I'll do my best to make it.

I asked a few months ago if anybody would be interested in doing something similar to that in North Carolina - nobody bit, so I dropped it. I would have sprung for the deposit.

Spensley,
There's a really good chance we did not see this or would have shown some interest.
We are leaning toward coming and will be bringing our intakes, ECU tuning hardware, Thermostats, AIR pump plates, diagnostic tools, Sprint Boosters, and hopefully some injector kits.
We can take deposits for those deffinately interested and those that want to pay there are welcome to wait.
Only one thing is needed, an internet connection. Anyone know if the place has a wireless internet connection?

Anthony, are you going to be at the Indianapolis event March 22? My wife are deciding which event we'll be bringing our SRT6 & SRT8 to. Tail of the Dragon or Indianapolis SRT drags....maybe both.
