Spark Plugs
Here's my problem:
(rough idling) While idling, engine will heel over every so often.
(decreased MPG) Have noticed a significant decrease in MPG in the past few weeks. I thought it was due to ethonal being added to the gas, but after further investivation no one adds ethonal here in Southern Louisiana.
Oil, oil filter and sir filter were changed 3,500 miles ago.
Check air filter, looks clean.
Have not checked fuel filter, I don't think that's the issue with 28,000 miles on the vehicle (It's not like I'm adding farm diesel to my car.)
I'm afraid to take it to the shop because there are no dependable automachanics here. Every wants $.
I think it might be the spark plugs. What do you think? If advice on which spark plugs to choose?

Stock plugs are suposed to be good for 100,000 miles.
I changed my plugs and wires at just under 50,000 to Mangacor wires and Torque Master plugs.
I would say check where you got fuel last... might be bad gas.

TimeLord is correct. The original plugs should be OK at 28,000 miles. They're designed to go 100,000 miles. If one or more of the plugs is fouled, it's probably not the plugs fault, you may have another problem. If you do replace the plugs, I would suggest putting in the same brand and heat range as the originals unless you are racing, and then you would want to go to a colder running plug. waldig just posted a very useful thread on changing plugs. Good Luck https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ht=spark+plugs

Did you do it yourself or did a mechanic change the plugs? Where the plugs that came out original or did someone before you put in the wrong heat range? What was the condition of the plugs when they were removed? It's possible that one of the wires was not attached correctly and now after replacing the plugs, it's back where it should be.
I had customers that swore that when they replaced their spark plugs with another brand it ran better. It's mostly perceived. If it did run better it's because a plug or two was fouled and any brand would have made it run better.
Let us know how you make out. Good Luck
I wrote up a posting on how to change the plugs, look my postings for details, there is a really simple thought or two in there which can make BIG differences. Enjoy, WOODY
