Default Exhaust opinions

I'm looking for a few "rare" exhaust options and am wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Opinions are very welcome.

I'm not looking for the regular magnaflow or flowmaster exhaust. I'm looking for something a tad bit more high pitched, but not louder. Something more european sounding rather than the deep sound of the magna and flowmaster. Recommendations?

I like the remus exhaust sound on this Porshe. Considering it's a similar sized engine does anyone have anything similar sounding on the Crossfire.

Also, has anyone tried the Borla XR-1 muffler?

xr1's are pretty much race mufflers. They are going to be anoyingly loud. I saw one guy with Ansa mufflers that sounded good.

Ansa would be great, but there is no where to buy one. I've tried contacting them with no response.

It's hard to replicate a sound from a Porsche with their Boxer motors. Sounds great indeed!

I got an Ansa!

I finally got a hold of a nice gentlemen at Ansa and he hooked me up! He said most online retailers don't carry them because they're made in Italy and limited quantities. Great customer service from Ansa!

That was great - had ANSA's on my old Alfa's - they were terrific - this is the 1 mod I would do. the rest are nice but I find the basic Limited to be fast enough to get me put in jail - don't need to go there 3 seconds sooner.

i have a universal dual tip stainless steel remus exhaust i purchased from austria for my acura good sound not loud or obnoxious no drone on the highway and makes a nice european car sound i had it on a inline 5 and used it for six months full stainless steel paid around $450. I am gonna sell it to my buddy for $250 if it will work for his bmw with inline 6, I might use it on the crossfire if it does not sell. Here are some pictures of it on my acura.

Here are a couple pictures:

It won't be installed for couple months, but I'll be sure to post pictures when it is .

Some are asking who I spoke to, price, contact number. I don't want to give the representative name as I believe he gave me a deal because I'm a business owner and can be classified as a "distributor". IMO It's just not ethically correct for me to give everyone his name and number and have him have to honor my price for everyone.

You can contact them through the contact us for on their website.

Don, I think you could give us SOME sort of an idea of who you're dealing with ... if you don't feel you can give the reps name or the $$ you paid, well fine, but giving us the name of the company and it's phone number wouldn't be too big a deal would it? ... after all, Don it was just a week ago that you were asking others for info that you now seem unwilling to share ...

Oh, I don't mind giving you the company, I thought already everyone already knew that. I purchased it directly from Ansa in GA. I don't have a phone number, all my communication was done through e-mail on their contact us page.

Hey there do you know what model of the Ansa exhaust is the most suitable for the Xfire?

I went today to order the magnaflow 14807, but it does not have the CEE / EU certificates so it's an illegual muffler in Europe on the roads.

I went to see the www.ansasport.it and as they are made here in Europe they do have it. I am so now going to order an Ansa muffler. Not a cat back system but just the muffler. And I was wondering as you have already yet contacted the US importer, do you know what model of their exhaust would be good and easy to fit?

TheDon what is the model you have on your car?

best regards,

I contacted Paul from ANSA Automotive Exhaust and he only have 17 ANSA sport exhaust left. Just tell him that you are a member of the crossfire forum and he will give you a discount. The total price will be $201.53 plus shipping.
His phone number is 1-800-841-9166. Ask for Paul.
If you want more info go to www.ansaautomotive.com
I just ordered mine.
I will take pics after installation.

Again, is this then just for the muffler alone, or the pipes cat-back?
