Yes, several out there and do-it-your owns.....I used Spectre pieces from Autozone which has been working out pretty good for me. :D

what kind of gains do you think you got from yours. i can tell a difference once i step on it from a stand still. i think i'll feel it a little quicker once i get a sprint booster.

P.S. All hail Autozone because they make it happen when you need it

What about all the hot air in there? why dont you put it behind the grill? but good setup no need to spend 400 0r 500 on a CAI just because it looks good.

The space restriction beside the radiator is why I sat for a hour trying to figure out how Borican got his through their and just gave up on it.

You need to remove the plastic air intake assembly that is next to the radiator.
One removed the intake tubes can be squeezed through the opening and bring the air in from the front behind only the grill.

on their intake is the pipe 3 inches in diameter.

yes the needswings intake is 3" on the single CAI setup. however, they use a silicone reinforced coupler that is somewhat flexible that passes through the radiator support...after you take out the plastic stock intake piece as VALK suggested...

for the needswings dual CAI they had to reduce the driver's side diameter to 2.75" for some reason...you'll have to ask him about that.

After the plastic piece is removed on the driver's side, the opening is smaller than the passenger-not symetrical. IDK why...:rolleyes:

Yeah I remooved the plastic pieces on both sides they are a little headache to pull out.

I've read this before but I guess I am fortunate to have not had any difficulty doing this.
I did mine and then recently I did FP's Roadster (both sides) and all without breaking the plastic assemblies.

I've heard they were easy to do but i'm 6'3 and have gorilla hands so its kinda hard to squeeze in their and grab them and pull them out.

Does this setup (with K&N filters) count as CAI too?

The tubes are 3" and they pick up the air directly from the front as you can see on the second picture. The air box itself is insulated with a heatshield underneath (not sure if it helps but it sure doesn't hurt)

Has anybody made a CAI themself? I'm highly interested in making one and was wondering if anybody has done this or had some tips. Thanks

I had same set up this one get more fuel and power and you hear the car better this is cheap fool proff set up until i get some cash to make it all sweet looking under the hood

Myself and mimi05srt6 both bought parts from autozone to build our CAI. I bought my piping from www.cxracing.com. All together I spent 70 for 2x K&N filters. 60 for the piping 3 inch in diameter. roughly 80 for the minature 45 and y pipe and spectre rubber couplings. the rubber intake pipe was i think like 20. so for around 250 you can make a dual set up on.

This is what I orderd the set up now worked well @ 65 bucks aint complaining i put pulse plugs and wires this is where i get my stuff from

I think you would qualify as a twin-cowl phaeton! Do they have bracket races for those?:)
