Default Changing Fuel Filter

Hello from Jacksonville!

I was wondering if it's difficult to change the fuel filter and can anyone provide advice. Also, tire monitoring system light stays on. Tire pressure is fine. Have a good weekend.

hey road dog
ill tell you how to change your fuel filter. you need a 10mm socket, at least a 12 inch extention, side cutters, both a phillps and standard screwdriver, 4 fuel injection clamps i think 3 are 3/8 and 1 is 3/16. next. the fuel filter itself is located in front of the right cv shaft covered by a plactic cover. the cover is held on by 3 10mm nuts and a button. once removed you will see your fuel pump and your fuel filter. first thing you do is put on safety glasses! next, the fuel filter has 4 lines going to it, remember where they go. using you side cutters cut off the old clamps. next, its better to use a pair of regular pliers to first crack lines before pulliing them off, this is just so you don't rip the lines. use your phillps screw driver to undue the screw that holds it in, you don't need to take it right out. and thats it. all and all it could talk you about 10 min. good luck buddy

Hey Road Dog,
Sorry can't help with the filter like the other guy, sounds messy. Depending on the year tp sensors might just be the problem. If its an 05 you might have the fm sensors which will make you a lucky guy cause there are a lot in stock, an the dealer. If it's an 04 with AM sensors there are after market which might be compatable with chrysler TPM's. again unless you own a DRBIII Computer ($3000.00) the dealer is the only one that can make the computer learn the TPM codes for each individual TPM and it's location. IE front left or right tire. Get it done don't let the light burn out. Good luck.

P.S. TPM batteries last only about 5 years , change them all cause the light on another may come on within days once they start going.

Be careful when cracking the lines loose due to fuel pressure still being there, and you might want to sure you do it where you dont care if fuel gets any where, but an easy job none the less.

Can you explain the AM and FM TPM sensors please.
Can you also explain what TPM sensors are on what model year, you mention '04 and '05s, what about the other years?
Other companies other than dealers can set the TPMS, tire dealers for a start. You can also buy a DIY instrument. How good it is I do not know but there are others and this one is $125.
