Smile Changing the oil with an Evacuator

I just bought a MityVac 2.3 gallon Fluid Evacuator from Harbor Freight for about $70 and found it worked great.

All I did was run the 1/4" semi rigid hose, that came with it, down the dip stick tube till it bottomed out and started hand pumping.

It sucked all the oil out in about five minutes, thereby eliminating all the hassles with jacking up the car and removing the shroud to get to the drain plug.

I am sure whoever put the oil filter right in the front of the car next to the oil fill cap figured that we should be using an evacuator to remove the oil and the whole job can be done in no time.

I will agree, an oil extractor is convenient. For now, my preference is to drain the oil from the pan............gives me a chance to inspect the underside.

When can I stop by for my waxoyl treatment, Gary?

I just have to make sure you don't put any stick on chrome on my car while I am there

I dont need to crawl under mine and change the oil to get a look at it.... Guess I get under mine too much..

I have a nice compressor driven oil sucker that I have been using for almost 3 years now....love it!

no rust under peel and stick chrome. added benefit. whereas regular chrome trim is a rust trap. gary
