Hi everyone , not long ago I posted about my crossfire , it was shaking on traffic lights and even sometimes would turn off , I took it to mechanic , first they change a hose because it was licking air then other air licking in the vacuum system , then 1000 $ because the mechanic said it was the oxygen sensor, the. The car still not the same power and when it gets too hot it would turn off and suddenly would start shaking and the RPS would go down and up ( just a little bit but I know my car and is not normal) now again the check engine light on again and took it back to my mechanic . He unplugged the battery , he said maybe the car was been driven with bad sensors for long time and now some burned gasoline is stuck somewhere , I've been at the shop everyday the last 3 weeks and I really don't know what else to do with this car , it drives ok , but suddenly would get like stuck , when I press the gas after been at a light it hesitate too long before the car even moves and after been driven for long periods of time the car suddenly would start shaking and even turn off ! And I press the gas almost all the way and it would feel like something is stuck and it will make like a little explosion and the car will go fast again ! Anybody can recommend something to do with the car ?? Or anybody know any good mechanic for crossfire In north dallas area( Plano , frisco ) ??

Texas.....give this guy a hand. You described a lot of things...and there are some possibilities we all could suggest you take a look at. Problem is, none of the things I will mention did your mechanics even look at. So, I would find new mechanics 1st off. There are a host of things that would cause shaking, missfire, and flat dying. How many miles are on the car would help. If you told me I missed it. Here are some common problems that can cause shaking and dying. The crankshaft position sensor. A very common problem with these cars. I would replace this 1st. Vacuum hose leaks, gaskets around throttle body, air intakes....all can cause rough idle as well. You will get a ton of response here...and maybe someone in Texas will steer you to a good mechanic.

Daniel, could you ask the mechanic what the code was when you brought it in to him. Reading the code is the first thing a mechanic does when there's a check engine light on. Letting us know what that code was, would be very helpful in figuring out what's going on.

I think that is the problem...his mechanic can't read.....its one thing to do the battery reset to get rid of the light...but, you have to fix the problem first...

Yea, a CODE would at least provide a starting point.

Hey, Doc, how 'about low fuel pressure? (Filter, pump, etc.)

(I mean, other than the items you suggested....)

I think you're right about that. His mechanic was definitely taking him for a ride. Really; what real auto mechanic doesn't have the ability to read codes these days? :rolleyes:
