Air injection pump won't turn off

I've got a 2004 crossfire. When I turn the key off the air injection pump continues to run. I had to unplug the wiring to it top get it top turn off. When plugged back in it stays running again. Is there a fix for this? I couldn't find any other threads about this problem. I was working on the stereo system and arched a couple wires, but the problem didn't start until the second time after that I started it. I don't think this would have anything to do with it anyway. Any ideas out there?

Re: Air injection pump won't turn off

The air pump relay ( #5 ) contacts are fused together in the RCM ( Relay Control Module ).
It is the module closest to the engine in the box by the battery.
Remove the RCM and send it to DJ ( tighed1 ) for repair.
( See thread "Mystery No Start" )

Thank you for the picture. I was able to clean up the points on my own. I would recommend laying a towel or something down if you're going to take the small spring off, mine fell into the engine compartment and I got super lucky that it went down to the floor. Thanks again saved me a lot of time diagnosing.

Replace the relay as filing it is just a temporary fix. The relay costs a lot less than a replacement pump.
