I was just over 2k for the transmission work. Difference in cost is i am in Canada, so everything is just a little more expensive. (but you are pretty bang on if you factor exchange rates)

Complete rebuilt.
Original transmission out and a rebuilt replacement.

From what I was told, it was the most cost effective method of correcting the "blown" transmission.

What fid your mechanic say was the weak points in the nsg370?
How much did he charge for the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel?

my mechanic told me that the weak link in the transmission was the bit that attaches the drivers seat to the transmission.

Said these things are pretty rock solid, however it is his belief that previous owner was hard on it (bad shifting and over stressing bearings with downshifts at too high a rpm) was the beginning. My sometimes zealous running thru the gears didn't help matters, and finally one thing lead to another and kaboom.

clutch is oem replacement, $1500 plus labour

Did they change the flywheel and pressure plate also or just the clutch?
