If I need to remove the muffler to R&R the diff then I'm considering a cat back replacement but the ones I am seeing all have the SRT resonators which I don't need. Have run cars with straight pipes just using the cats and an X pipe to quiet low revs before.
Any suggestions ? I like the dual center exhaust but would like it to sound more like a Corvair on trombones (not getting into Jag sounds of my yout). A good healty six can sound sweeeeet unlike the four bangers with f*rt cans.
Keep in mind that I also tend to drive long distances so prefer no resonation in the 2000-2600 rpm range please. Then again am already hearing impaired...

Valk has pics of his Magnaflow CatBack on this post... I've had mine on the Limited for over 3 yrs and it does mellow a little over break-in time. Easy P&P.

A Magnaflow cat back exhaust does NOT have a resonator
It is a straight stainless steel pipe which splits into 2 stainless steel pipes which have a glasspak design muffler on each one
It is a direct bolt on replacement for our OEM exhaust and sounds awesome IMO.
Not to loud and music to my ears at any speed

I realize this may be heresy but it looks like a single pipe out of the collector so why split into duals ? Gas temp is lower out of the cats so seems like a single pipe with an oval tip would be "interesting". In general an "evenfire" 6 with a street cam under 6 grand can gain scavaging from a single pipe.
What happened with a straight pipe ? Did it extend past the rear facia ? Was there a resonant point ? YWTK
Thinking a single 2.25" stainless pipe tipped with one of or maybe . Remember, things don't rust here.
Is the collector flange anything special ? Anyone know what fits ?
