Horsepower rating for stock tranny in limited
Re: Horsepower rating for stock tranny in limited
I have read that the 722.8 was designed to handle 800 ft-lbs of torque, however I've also found some articles that claim that the transmissions Mercedes made for Chrysler were altered slightly and made inferior as a result of the modification. Can anyone lend info to this topic?

The base and limited models when equipped with automatics used the W5A 330 and were rated for 330 newton meters of torque or 243 foot pounds of torque and 250 horsepower. The non supercharged naturally aspirated Crossfire engine produces 215 horsepower with 310 newton meters of torque or 229 pound-feet of torque.

You're welcome and yes it is available here on the Forum under documentation and also in the repair manual available here on the forum, the information is available at Wikipedia just type in Chrysler Crossfire you will get a complete history. Or you can just Google 722.6 nag1 automatic transmission history and you will get a complete breakdown.
